Female Taoist sexual practices with Saida

persephone says...

We can be so hard on ourselves and others with judgments and expectations. I love being reminded to have compassion for myself. Thank you so much for finding this one, Arvana.

I think they're overstating the issue of poo. I mean sure, make sure it's clean before you stick it elsewhere, but it's really just a psychological barrier. What's a smear, between lovers?

Bjork Performs with Gamelan Ensemble - One Day

I heard an interview with her today, because she was playing at an outdoor concert here on the Gold Coast, called The Big Day Out, held annually. Anyway, for clarification, she said her name is pronounced byerk (rhymes with jerk).
So now you know!

Pachinko parlours are soul-less, life-less, depressing bloody places. Wasn't a woman charged about 10 years ago, for leaving her infant in a car, parked outside a pachinko place for something like 6 hours, while she gambled away inside? I forget the details, now, but I remember thinking it was a tragedy at the time.

Blutruth, it's fairly common here to see titles with act/group names alongside the name of the song/show, without any punctuation in between. Like, for example, Kate Bush Hounds of Love. Doesn't mean we don't know how to use it, I just omit it for simplicity and flow.

It's a Privilege to Call Yourself a Scientologist

All that fervour must get exhausting. It's like he thinks life is a constant ER experience or something. His state of mind reminds me of friends and relatives who were in cults, who saw their daily life as a war zone and who were constantly on the look-out for satan and his workers.

He must have been pretty vulnerable to get tied up with these people. Cults don't usually work on those with a working sense of self. He's got hard slog ahead of himself if he wants to regain his life. Poor bastard.

Patrick Stewart speaks about Domestic Violence

persephone says...

Having a father with an inability to control his anger, who sometimes lashed out at my mother physically, had a profound effect on me. I think it hindered my ability to experience security and intimacy with men for a long time.

Even now, a man only has to raise his voice in an angry way around me and it throws me back to feeling like a helpless six year old.

I've worked hard on this stuff. Still working on it.

"Ladies Are you doing laundry in the love of god"

I prefer the Buddhist attitude toward domestic work (any work, really) which is that we can approach it as our daily meditation. I don't have a dishwasher, so I usually spend about 20 minutes in the morning and when it's my night, about 45 minutes at night, at the sink, up to my elbows in suds.

It's a perfect opportunity to meditate, because it's repetitive and doesn't require much brain space. It is just as tricky as seated meditation, keeping your mind on what you are doing, without it drifting away to other thoughts.

When I'm feeling sorry for myself, it can feel like torture. When I focus, it can be very satisfying.
