Big Bang Theory minus laugh track
This is only one scene, and if you don't know the characters, it might not be funny. To me, knowing the situation, knowing the characters, it's very very funny without the laugh track. I wish I always got to see the show without the laugh track.

Karen in Denmark seeking August's father
I know this has been on the sift (with excited discussions of it), but I can't find it. Another victim of the cute title/tag situation.

"Racist" Australian KFC Commercial
Well, I'm an american who has lived in oz for a bit (several decades ago), and the thing that seemed to tip it over the edge for me was the "too easy" at the end.
But yeah, I think if I was an aussie I would be pissed that something was deemed offensive because of foreign cultural stereotypes.
Nutty Optical Illusion (Warning: Brain Twisting Imminent)
It seems just a bit cheap to exploit the three D smashed into 2D thing that way. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but my brain didn't feel twisted.

Stephen Fry - Bullet Question
I think you need quite a tall rooftop for this to be true.
>> ^rottenseed:
The harder thing to understand would be if I told you that if you fired a bullet from a rooftop straight down to the ground, or you fired it at an upward angle, due to the conservation of energy, both bullets would have to be travelling at the same velocity magnitude when they hit the ground (although direction at impact would be different, obviously).
HP Webcams are Racist
Did any of you see the Better of Ted episode that was all about this. It was pretty funny--like a longer, funnier, version of this video with prettier actors. The company ends up hiring white people to follow the black people around and trigger the technology.

Can I make a post invisible to me?
In reply to this comment by oxdottir:
OK, is there some way I can make it so a particular post is no longer visible to me? So that when I go to sifttalk I don't have to read jokes about rape that make me want to log off and avoid the site alltogether?
OK. That didn't work. I tried ignoring Jigga. That did nothing to hide his, of all things, PROMOTED post. How do I get this shit off my screen? This is a serious question.

Taking advice. Ceasing crying and sifting around.
Many sifters are extremists when talking about religion (Religion Talk Post)
I happened to be looking up Emma Thompson after enjoying "An Education," and I found a nice quote from and about her on Wikipedia:
Thompson is an outspoken anti-religious atheist: "I'm an atheist; I suppose you can call me a sort of libertarian anarchist. I regard religion with fear and suspicion. It's not enough to say that I don't believe in God. I actually regard the system as distressing: I am offended by some of the things said in the Bible and the Qur'an, and I refute them."

New Barbie Doll with a Burqa?
I know Muslim women engineers who feel very very sad that they can't wear religious Islamic clothing in this country because they feel it will make them the subject of discrimination. The one I know best is a power house who would be likely to outthink you 5 ways to Sunday if you tried to prevent her from doing anything she wanted to do. I think these would laugh at any attempt to see this as black and white.
As for me, I'm pretty much willing to use the "Fox News compliment rule" to say if Fox is outraged, Burka Barbie must be a better thing than I realized.
