Illegal to dig the sand on Florida beaches?

moopysnooze says...

Frankly the two dudes that told him off came off looking worse.

The guy had a plastic shovel doing a shallow patch on the beach. Same as what someone could probably do with their feet. It's not like there is a line of 50 different media persons going to the same beach doing the same thing and ruining the beach for the wildlife etc.

He'd already dug a bit, the guard could have stood watch to see if they went on to do anything else and if not just let that go. If it becomes a problem where a significant amount of others are copying him or if he was digging any deeper sure take action. Complete and total lack of common sense.

Frankly if an idiot person wants to smear oil all over their face knowing the harm it could cause it's their problem. the whole I must save you from yourself mentality is much too common. I mean feel free to talk up to people to warn them of the dangers but being all tough telling people oh you can't do that cuz it's the rules is just being arsey.

Portal 2: In-game demo and walkthrough of new gameplay

moopysnooze says...

Compared to the polite lady machine I thought it was strange to hear that British voice pop out so I looked it up and found:

"(We were told that the audio we were hearing was simply a Valve employee performing a test voice, which is usually thrown away, but it seems as if this one would be kept through the final product. That would be a wise move, as both the writing and the voice work felt great, full of life and character.)"

Seattle officer punches girl in face during jaywalking stop

moopysnooze says...

Perfectly worded. Agreed.>> ^swedishfriend:

How else he could have handled it:
1. warn the guy about jaywalking.
2. leave
or, if the girls were yelling at him as soon as he approached the kid:
1. calm everybody the fuck down.
2. warn the kid
3. leave
or, after he grabbed the small girl and tried to arrest her:
1. When the Bigger girl separates him from the smaller girl, back off a few steps.
2. calm everybody down
3. warn all three kids re: behavior and jaywalking
4. leave

Giant Fish Head is Going to Eat You!

moopysnooze says...

I've been looking up Iki Jime after Gee mentioned it and from what I understand it's to accurately and quickly sever the blood vessels and spinal cord with the use of a knife or something like this.

The thing stuck in that fish's head has multiple proggy things and does not look like the ideal device to be using for any accurate spinal cord cutting work.

In any case, this vid is pretty freaky and yeah they are being disrespectful but I care more about if the fish suffered while it was still living. If not, meh... what can you do? You cannot force people to be respectful to everything that they eat. Better than if they were toying around with it while it was alive.

Does the world need nuclear energy? - TED Debate

moopysnooze says...

While the technology catches up to make wind/wave/solar cheap enough to set up and run to make sense, I'd like to see us working on having some nuclear power plants to provide the base energy source for times when we might see our weather become unreliable for any reason.

There is plenty of land in the world and as the man said, the windy mills can be off shore. I don't worry so much about how much space they take up, but rather more about how efficient the beasts are in comparison to the resources they consume to make, setup, transport and run.

It would be nice if we could have both working well

Cute Together: Dog and Baby playing

moopysnooze says...

When I watched this vid with my other half before I read the comments I was singing praises about the dog. Yes he was hyperactive but never once did I think he was dangerous.

He seemed to understand boundaries (rather than like my friend's dog who would actually crawl all over visitors claws stratching all the way). Never once did he hurt that child and when he got up close he showed very gentle affection by licking.

Good dog indeed!
