Satoru Iwata: CEO, Game Developer, Gamer - Did You Know Gami
He really was a man who left this world too soon. The day he died, the gaming world came to a grinding halt and it didn't matter what kind of gamer you were.
He really was that influential of a man, and he will continue to be missed be all.
Family Feud SNES- Nonsensical Answers
Yep. The Algorithm that the game uses (as I said for "misspelling if you will) can be manipulated in a sense where in spite of how randomly long the response is and how nonsensical it is in context, as long as it identifies the letters well enough, it will give it to you. One example I loved was "Opps I pressed it" which the game recognized the somewhat as "Spee_ _i_it" and from there gave us "Speed Limit." Or "Bullshit Boston Lawyer" and it was able to figure out "Busboy" out of a few of the letters.
That's half the fun of this video, to try and decode these patterns.
That Hall family looks pissed.
(edit) Wow, didn't even read the description first.
(edit2) I think I gleaned the specific algorithm watching the whole thing through. The player just has to enter the answer's letters in the right order, with anything between them.

I really need to figure out how to change the title of your video without having to opt out of the beta... Anyway, the title has been altered so so that it is indeed the SNES.
Thank you Artician and it is nice to meet you.
This was way, way more entertaining than I expected it to be.
You can kind of reverse engineer how the game is deriving the answers from player input. Kinda makes me want to muck with it myself, but not really.
BTW, this is SNES, not NES.

I've been needing to figure out how that was done. so "*backup=[]" and that will allow the video to get a replacement placed in automatically if anything was to happen to the original.
I'll be sure to do the backup with the dead so that at least videos that are "quick fixes" can be done in a timely fashion.
Thank you Oritteropo. Also it is nice to meet you since I don't I've had the chance to be properly accounted when I was here a few years ago.
Oh yeah, if there's a backup then dead will auto replace.
If the backup is dead too you might need to repeat.
*backup=[] can now take a url, at least for a url you could paste into the video submit box (it does roughly the equivalent of pasting the url into the submit box, hitting validate, and then putting in that embed as the backup).

After seeing Batman VR, I decided that after years of slumber, it was time to make a return!
Since I've been back, I've discovered a few things have changed during my absence. Such as how my "Dead" sprees can be seen in the "newest comments" and how the "embed code" replace had gone somewhere that I could only guess is reserved for the "Deadpool."
That said though, I do want to try my luck again here on videosift and see if I can catch up on old times. So fair forewarning to anyone ranked 1-69 (I'm shocked I'm at Rank 70 after all this time), if I start to get bored one of these days, you might get a couple of emails from Siftbot saying how a good chunk of your videos had died.
I like to think that I "Inspired" the "Grim Reaper" badge. But yeah... It is time to see if I can crack Top 50 and get to a rating over 1000!

Mel Gibson's next movie - Apocalypto (theatrical trailer)
While I am going to say that the video is *dead , the trailer is pretty easy to replace.

Not sure what happened with the video, but it is a big white spot now. I guess 10 year old+ videos don't age well. *dead

Mister Rogers receives his Lifetime Achievement Award - 1997
Huh... So videosift videos that are declared dead can auto replace embed codes if they are declared dead. Good to know!
Mister Rogers receives his Lifetime Achievement Award - 1997
The video is sadly *dead , however the duplicate that was posted is still there to replace it with.

I really do miss Mr. Rogers.
