I do like that this does touch (although very briefly) on the fact that frequently (in fact, for almost all things) our conviction is based on "reasonable doubt" rather than "unequivocal proof" - as in, he did not try to skirt the importance of circumstantial evidence, which is significantly more enlightened than the usual "NO PROOF NO PROOF NO PROOF" behavior which, while possibly reasonable, does not really engender positive sentiment.
There could be a "reasonable doubt" about the existence of this dog. We never once see a whole dog. That "thing" is wearing a sweater and therefore, It's "reasonable" that there may not be an entire dog there. Even if that dog was not wearing the sweater, Can it be proved that it is not a cyborg dog!? I saw one of those robotic dogs on Battlestar Galactica!!!

It is simplistic viewpoints & ideology expressed in videos like the "banana" and "tides" that causes a person to feel as though there is a need to make this video. He is forced to slow down, dumb down, and explain his topic as though he is speaking to a child. Just a few days ago my 8 y/o daughter asked me "Daddy, where do people come from?" "There had to be some first people right?" I asked her, "Do you want the scientific answer or do you want me to tell you what it says in the bible?" She just smiled at me and said "I want to know where we really came from. I like science!" I was happy to have my 8 y/o ask me that question, but I was also very pleased at the level of insight she showed with her answer to MY question.

Alzheimer's Disease Shines Humanity
holymackerel013This video is inspiring and that man has so much love in his heart, yet the video left me feeling sad. I too met my wife in school. We will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary in 8 days and we have been together for over 20 years now. I watched the movie 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' yesterday. It deals with the subject of Alzheimer's Disease and I was thinking on this very subject as I watched it. I ended up having a conversation with my oldest daughter about my fears that someday this may happen to us, her parents, someday. I love my wife so much, and my mind is full of wonderful memories. Hopefully we will continue to make these sweet memories for decades to come; I just hope that this is not a fate that we will someday share with that loving couple.

holymackerel013My goodness.....I didn't expect to be reading these comments after watching this video. I have two young daughters and they are constantly getting me involved in fun stuff like this. In fact, just before watching this video, I was involved in a very complicated medical procedure on my oldest daughter's pet unicorn. We concluded that her unicorn has contracted a bad case of unicorn horn flu, so doctor daughter prescribed her a week of bed rest and extra fruits and vegetables. I hope I'm being a good father!!!
