incredibly stupid tabloid science. i'm amazed that there're still people who can differentiate between cause and correlation. fat parents are having fat kids, is it genetics? no, it's because whatever the reason for your bad eating habits, you pass them down to your kids. what to you expect from your kids when you only eat junk? they'll eat it too. either because they mimic you or because you're the one who feeds them! congratulations, now you have perfect excuses: what once were "heavy bones" now are "hunger hormones" and genetics. this "documentation" didn't provide any hard facts, just hormones with names in quotation marks and similar snake oil stuff.

Step 1: stop doing sports, eat more junk and surprise! you'll become overweight. Step 2: catch up on exercising and change your diet and surprise again! your weight will drop. it's common sense. and this comes from someone who's still perfecting step 1... ;-)

For me it's not really what he should do about it but more what we as a society should do about it. Certainly not endorse this dickhead as an oh-so brilliant actor but at least ignore him, punishment on a social level so to say. I'm really not proficient enough in the english language to express my feelings on this. Basically it comes down to this: You do something bad, society punishes you, either by locking you up or by declaring you a Pariah. To me it seems nothing has happened in this case. Again please keep in mind: This is a very flimsy attempt at translating what's in my head.

Yup.

I genuinely don't believe in holding something against him for what happened in another lifetime- don't get me wrong, I'm no Marky Mark fan at all, but that stuff is ancient history and neither of us know him. He might still be a shitbag, but he could be a saint. None of us are privy to his private life really, or who he is as a person. If it had happened say, in 2006, maybe then it would seem more relevant, but nothing about his life or character now seems to resemble what it was then. To be honest, pronouncing doom on him for something he did when he was 16 makes one look pretty bad in my eyes. Having said that, I dunno, maybe he is still the same unrepentant racist douchebag. But I have considerable reason to doubt.


In my view of the world there are things that can be forgiven or forgotten, but being a racist dickhead and assaulting others (this is not schoolyard beating we're talking about) are not among those things. But it seems you just have to be a) president or b) actor / singer or c) a stupid white self-proclaimed neighborhood watch guy and suddenly the otherwise strict moral codes of US culture don't apply to you ;-)

Not that i know too much about life on a US campus but isn't it an incredibly stupid idea to crash into a room full of students, wearing a mask and wielding something that just has to be mistaken as a weapon? My impression from press is that because of all the killing sprees in US schools and universities and so on several institutions allow their students to wear guns? or at least the professors? And even if this this is a false picture i'm being painted by sensational press, isn't it still at least a cruel thing to do? Aren't people nervous about crazy folks shooting around? You can clearly see the professor twitching nervously. Maybe i'm seeing things too serious but in my perception there's enough of gun related violence in the US education system that would make joking around with such stuff a really bad idea.

I'd give my left arm for 4 USD a gallon. Right now we're at 7,57 USD a gallon (1,50 EUR per liter). And that's for diesel, which is subsidized over here. I'm happy i don't need Super (Premium you call it i think), regular isn't sold here anymore.
