Let's Talk Global Warming (Nature Talk Post)
Until China overtakes America as the worlds worst polluter, both overall and per capita, the rest of the world is still waiting on America to be the one to initiate real action. When will America lead the way in environmental issues? Ask yourself which countries lead the way now in renewable energy, more efficient motoring, strong environmental political policies, real debate in the media etc. 30 years ago you could have answered America, but not any more. Now the world leaders are Japan, Germany and other European nations.
America is by far the scariest and most dangerous country in the world right now - responsible for the most dangerous wars and the most dangerous pollution. America has shipped their worst polluting industry overseas to China and India, and tried to shift the blame at the same time, but the market remains at home. Why is the American public, including the usual vocal internet community, so quiet about environmental issues?
As for recent cooling, lets just say that any article that talks about cooling in the past few years but fails to mention La Nina or El Nino should be taken with a very large grain of salt.
Here are another few interesting that appeared in the Australian.
This one concludes the article posted above:

This article is typical of the nonsense that sways so much of the public:

One mans beautiful collaboration with nature
Eh doesn't sound much like Bjork to me. Completely different really.
I'll take a potato chip...AND EAT IT!
Hey this series kicked ass. Well worth watching from start to finish... the quality is very high - one of the best series I've seen in a long long time. Just don't watch it if you're a psychotic. Also don't watch the movies, they sucked. And don't watch the dubbed versions... you're missing out.
Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Haha you have to give him some credit for learning a few more stage moves over the years.
John McCain Gets Owned on Meet The Press
Yeah I think McCain made that news presenter look pretty dumb. Personally I think no matter what you think should happen in Iraq now, the whole f***** situation is sad and its basically too late. America owe the rest of the world a big fat apology and then they should get out of everyone's face for a few decades and let China run the world for a while.
Windmill Destroyed By Wind
You could also use less energy (i.e. eat less beef, drive less, turn off the aircon), which is the cleanest, easiest and cheapest solution of all... nothing ever exploded because it didn't eat enough beef. But I won't go there.
Response to: "Atheists have faith, just like theists."
@Kraz it's absolute *certainty* that he doesn't like - he says nothing about absolute *truths*.
He says, that while he cannot be 100% sure that god does not exist, he can deduce that there is about a 99% chance that god does not exist and that that is a good enough reason to sleep in on Sunday morning instead of going to Church.
This Matt Dillahunty guy is very sharp (and the caller very stupid). It's almost pointless to watch such a poor match up.
Guitar Duel from Crossroads
Actually the ending piece that wins the duel is not Steve Vai's composition really, it's Paganini. The piece is ironic in some ways - Steve Vai represents Paganini and the classical school whilst Ralph represents Robert Johnson, yet Ralph wins by playing a Paganini piece that he must have learned in Juilliard.
Ralph does a great job at fake guitar playing in this movie, by the way. I wonder if he actually turned out to be a decent player after all the training he must have gone through.
The IT Crowd - How to Break the Internet
How come whenever there's a British comedy clip, someone always posts saying that it's not funny or they don't get it? Getting kind of predictable here on the sift.
This cat is SO asleep
Must be having a dream
Awesome musicians. a "Hang Drum" creates an AMAZING sound
I think a musician who is offended by an entertaining improvisation on a new instrument such as this, has a long way to come as a musician. Speeds up and down a lot? The guy's just jamming and having fun for godssake. His time at the end with the other guy is fine btw.
What should the penalty be for having an illegal abortion?
Surely there's an easy way out of this question - the abortionist should be punished. Not the abortionee. Same as when kids buy cigarettes, the kids don't get punished (except by their mum's) but the shop can get in serious trouble.
(--view not supported by me... just seems a rather obvious answer to his question)
James Spader on Boston Legal Says Enough, Bush
James Spader wasn't in Jacob's ladder. And come on Secretary is a pretty fun movie.
See? All those years of soccer practice DO pay off!
if that was fake, what the hell was he climbing the lamp post for?
This is what happens if you talk on your phone at a concert?
FYI, the man on the phone wasn't drowned. There are a few glasses of beverages being consumed safely, but no drowning. Nor was there any actual cell - none of the people in the video are actually imprisoned in small rooms. Although they are all composed of trillions of cells, but that is hardly a way to categorize a video now is it? Down voted for inaccuracy.
