Yeah, they all show up to his shows and pay for tickets because they pity him, you got the right idea.

I've met the guy a few times, and to be honest he's a bit of a creep, always hitting on little girls, but besides that, what he is doing is wonderful, somebody had to step up and do it.

To say that he doesn't deserve it would obviously be true, but to say he shouldn't have expected it would be false, he's been pushing their buttons for a while now.
