The police officers could be heard yelling stop resisting ;)

Yogi says...

Who said we have to be relevant on the sift? Or that 5 years is ancient history? I say there isn't a statute of limitations on evidence that is constantly ignored.

When a problem is systemic as long as that system exists in one form or another you can use the examples it creates for you. Otherwise all we have to go on is current stories and theory. That's simply not enough to convince, especially when we move from thing to thing so quickly in today's media. Again 5 years isn't ancient, to say this isn't relevant as an indictment of Police behavior because of how old it is or that the police were punished doesn't make sense.

It's a common belief that history doesn't matter to the people that hold the sticks, because they can move on easily. They weren't the victims, they bludgeoned the victims. This is why smart politicians always talk about the future, and moving forward. Shouldn't look back because then you will notice the crimes, and how the current politician is repeating those crimes.

On a more ridiculous note have you seen some of the shit on the sift. Why would you say this video isn't relevant? It has no description at all, or title, or tags that allude to Ferguson.

The shooting video in St. Louis yesterday is relevant. This is not.

If it hasn't found it way to the sift yet I'm sure it will soon.

They apparently didn't know that that nerve innervates the heart and other chest organs. From Gray's Anatomy:

"As the RL nerve curves around the subclavian artery or the arch of aorta, it gives several cardiac filaments to the deep part of the cardiac plexus. As it ascends in the neck it gives off branches, more numerous on the left than on the right side, to the mucous membrane and muscular coat of the oesophagus; branches to the mucous membrane and muscular fibers of the trachea and some filaments to the inferior constrictor."

And as the lady is separating the nerve from the chest area, she is actually cutting those nerve innervations. Oh, and one more thing. The long nerve does NOTHING to weaken the neck, or the animal itself, as is seen in the following video.

This is nothing new especially. There's a lot of literature about social engineering. That if you spend a little money on things like childcare for your employees they'll work harder for you. Same with making the workplace just more enjoyable. They'll work harder and have an investment in their workplace so it makes sense to treat them nicer. Make them feel like they belong with significant things rather than just propaganda about how we're all a corporate family bullshit. People don't fall for that, unless they're already really indoctrinated.

In many cases though corporations won't do something like that even though it'll make them more money. Why? Because there would be giving up some control. It's not all about money, it's also about controlling your workforces.

This is so fucking obvious. Especially in a consumer based economy.

I love this show...but I don't watch it with any subtitles and I don't know German. Now seeing it with subtitles, I've made the right choice. Not that it's bad, It's just you don't need to know. It's much funnier if she doesn't say "We need to go to the eye doctor" and just suddenly you see them switch to the car and driving while screaming.

Comedy doesn't need translation...well her comedy doesn't at least.

Republicans give tax breaks to companies abandoning America

Yogi says...

There is sort of already a World Senate, and it has to do with Corporations and Financial interests. If a country does something that is "Bad for Business" then corporations or banks with just take out whatever they can and suddenly the countries economy will scream and this has real consequences.

Even America is not immune it seams and the completely anti-social Republicans who aren't even a political party anymore since they stopped representing all but the richest in the country, are going to help them. This brings about another way in which those with money can destroy people. They must be stopped.

@artician In my view and this maybe too simple, but I think that Israel and the United States should not just obey international law, but obey their own populations who want a 2 state solution. There is no reason for this to be continuing on except that Israel wants the better land and the US wants a good middle east ally and base of operations.

Go back to the 1973 borders, accept the 2 state solution and we'll be done with it. Israel doesn't accept that because they say Jordan is the only palestinian state they'll allow to exist. The world has voted several times, their own populations have expressed their wishes. The only way they can continue is with apathy and a giant propaganda campaign.

In a couple years the rich will be fleeing the country. We might be able to use that opportunity to turn towards retired politicians as well.

I keep seeking comfort in the knowledge that there is no statue of limitations on war crimes. Even a decade or two from now, we could, in theory, decide to live up to our own standards, and prosecute those who committed them.

It's not a great dream, but it's about all that's left.

I think this implies that the United States is incompetent or bumbling. I'm sure you can point to several examples where they have been. I also think you can point to many more examples where they have actively and knowingly fucked up the Middle East because of a particular strategic reason.

Don't let war criminals off the hook because people are more accepting of the arguments of a bungling government than a nefarious one.
