Consoles are turning into the legacy media providers; the only thing they can do to get you to buy one is provide platform-locked content. There is nothing they're doing here that couldn't be done as well or better with a PC. (or Mac if the software was there) Like Jinx says, I'd much rather have an open platform like Valve's idea.

What if we can't ever expect our children to treat each other with respect when our adults don't give them a lead to follow. Does the system by which we operate ensure harmony and shared purpose, or do we strive to force competition amongst ourselves for access to an artificially finite resource governed by a set of rules we have collectively agreed to follow?

Maybe our society is sick and this is one of the many symptoms. Maybe we need to change society.

I can't disagree with that assessment as stated at all, but at the same time I think there may be some validity to the overall point regardless of the mention of that questionable group. I certainly won't defend bullying; I think it's abhorrent and indefensible, but I'm concerned regarding the point that discourse on college campuses has been stifled may be valid and worth discussing.

Regardless, due to priorities beyond my control I know that I won't be the one to hash this out so let me just say that this is a great conversation and it's exactly what I hope VS can continue to be.
