Air Force One Stunt freaks out New Yorkers

LordOderus says...

I don't really see the big deal here, it's not like the planes were buzzing the buildings or something, they were still safely above everything. Perhaps it was poorly thought out by whoever planned it, but I find it far more upsetting that almost 10 years later and people are still so paranoid that they actually ran in terror of a plane flying overhead. It just seems that whenever anything involving, referring to, or resembling 9/11 occurs, peoples logic just goes out the window. We've edited movies, vastly altered airport security to frustrating heights, and apparently developed a phobia of planes flying any lower that cruising altitude.

Considering the point of terrorist attacks is to disrupt daily life and cause "terror", I would have to say that they definitely accomplished their goal.

Good thing we're involved in two wars so we can all feel so safe that we still flee in terror when a plane flys overhead.

Naked man tasered multiple times at Coachella festival

LordOderus says...

Yes the guy was being difficult. Yes he should have just put his clothes on. In fairness, the cops did give him several chances to just get dressed again and move on.

However when he refused, all the cops had to do was cuff him and take him away. I'm 140lbs soaking wet, never had any police training, and EVEN I could have cuffed that guy without tasering him and dropping a knee on his sternum.

Honestly, the knee to the chest is far more frightening to me than the taser. That knee drop could have easily broken that mans Xiphoid process which can kill you pretty quickly. As much as the taser was unnecessary and I'm sure terribly unpleasant for the naked man, at least it wasn't extremely life threatening.

Pornstar Gives State Trooper A Blow Job

LordOderus says...

See why can't more cops abuse their power in ways like this. Taking sexual favors in exchange for not giving someone a ticket is way better for society then cops beating on people and violating their civil liberties.

Plus I'm sure its more fun for the cop too....

Doctors Find Small Fir Tree Growing in Man's Lung

LordOderus says...

Well I don't know much about botany, but if the little pine had even a little bit of a root system, it had to be "growing" in some sense. Just inhaling a piece of a pine bough wouldn't come with roots attached. I know plants can do some growing without much light to work with. Did you ever do that experiment in middle school where you put a plant in box with dividers in it, and it grows around them to get to the light? Maybe they can do a little bit of growing without light, just based on nutrients and such?

I dunno, maybe it's some viral video for some pine flavored Russian cigarette or something. heh

There is a Homosexual Storm Gathering

LordOderus says...

I think if homophobic, Catholic nut jobs get to form a group called "The Rainbow Coalition" then the gays should get an inappropriately named group as well. The gays could form a group called "The Church of Jesus-Christ" (picture that as being said by Mr. Slave from South Park)

Then the gays in that group could go around dressed as priests, hold sermons, even *gasp* marry people!

The funny part is, I bet the "Gay priests" wouldn't molest any little boys, more than can be said for the Catholic priests these days.

Brilliant Young Woman's Science Fair Project on Knot Theory

LordOderus says...

Math has never been my strong point, and the fact that this is high level theoretical math didn't help me grasp it either. Judging by the fact that she won a $50,000 scholarship and decided to go to Harvard, she must be absolutely brilliant. However, and please, someone smarter than me correct me if I'm wrong here, did she use math to prove that certain knots are identical? I tried to understand her bio chemical application speech, but if all the formula does is prove that you can claim certain knots are identical, isn't that sort of a waste? I mean, people with minds like hers have to be pretty rare. Shouldn't they be working on something more useful like cold fusion or some other crazy theory that will change the world in amazing and wonderful ways?

I'm probably just too dumb to grasp the wide spread applications of knot identification.

The Punisher HATES Parkour!

LordOderus says...

I'm a huge Punisher comics fan. I currently read all 3 Punisher titles that are on the market. I greatly enjoyed the Thomas Jane Punisher movie that came out a few years back. The previews for Warzone looked so bad that I opted to pass on seeing it entirely. After watching this clip, it appears I was made the correct choice.

Movie looks *Terrible.

Someone want to get that for me?

Man Arrested for Feeding the Homeless!

LordOderus says...

Why do I watch these videos? Every time I watch a video where police are violating peoples civil rights, or enforcing morally deficient and petty laws at the expense of doing good, it makes my blood boil. It honestly makes me want to go get a gun, and start randomly gunning down police officers. I know that these ignorant and power crazed police only make up a small percentage of law enforcement as a whole, but they're never held accountable for anything they do. I have completely lost faith in the police in this country, and thats sad. We're supposed to look to them for help, support, and safety. Instead we fear them for their brutality and lack of caring, and hate them for their seemingly random distribution of "justice".

And I'd like to point out, I am a law abiding citizen. I don't do drugs, drink, anything like that. Hell I don't even speed. But yet every time I see a cop, I wonder what he's going to harass me for. It's time America does something about the state of law enforcement in this country.

I know I kinda went off topic and ranted there for a bit. Been a long week and that just set me off.

The Petaminx: most diabolical Rubik's cube ever

LordOderus says...

Only a masochist would custom build something so diabolical. Unless of course they have some friend that's good at rubix cubes and just wants to torture them.

Either way, damned impressive work and craftsmanship!

CCTV: King County sheriff's deputy assaulting 15 yr old girl

LordOderus says...

>> ^JohnnyMackers:
The quoting system is an arse to try and work with so

To mouthbreathers like Maze and Throbbin: Stop trying.
To others: No, in my opinion YOU are wrong. And your views based in fantasy.
Desirable as it might seem, that is not the world we live in.

No, their views are based on the Law not fantasy. Our government and society have set up a set or rules and regulations on how the police are allowed to treat people. Police officers are not allowed to beat the crap out of a person for no reason. Actually, they're not allowed to beat the snot out of people at all. Yes, they're authorized to use physical force, pain compliance, and even deadly force to restrain a prisoner or to save a life. In this case the term "excessive force" is a completely accurate description of the events. The officers probably had just cause to handcuff and restrain the girl, she did kick her shoe at them. They did not have justification to pummel her in the face, slam her on the ground, hit her a few more times while shes prone, then lift her off the ground by her hair.

That is not the view of some liberal fantasy world, that is the law. Now if you think that the laws are allowed to be ignored because "the real world is a hard place" or whatever, then I fear our society has gone past its prime. Everyone has to be held accountable to the law. Cops, Judges, Hookers, Drug dealers, and innocent people are all the same under the law. As a country and as a people, we have been ignoring the abuse by the police for far too long now. This needs to stop for the good of everyone in the country.

is it hot in here?
well, did the girl deserve a reality check beat down? Maybe. Is the cop a fuckstain? Most certainly, yes. In any event, that pig is a piece of shit undeserving of the Badge.
However, I think it would be in Lordoderus' best interest to actually discover the definition of Police State.

You're right, that was actually just really poor wording on my part. I didn't mean that we live in a police state, more that our rights and liberties are slowly being evaded and circumvented by the police. I should have worded that better, but I was somewhat distracted by rage and the taste of bile in my mouth.
