It's vote inflation. Once you started giving out stars for comments that got 15 or more votes people started voting for comments more. Also there are probably more registered users now, so with more voters come more votes, just like there are more 100+ videos these days than there were even six months ago, right around when I first joined.

I doubt that it's due to people's comments getting better as a whole. Except mine.

I think you should go with whatever you personally like the most. I appreciate that you're soliciting feedback from us, but it's going to be YOUR channel, so you might as well do whatever makes you the happiest.

Also, I don't think Germany is too limited. It might not be a category that will be as huge as British or Canada, but so what? Personally, I like going to StumbleUpon video and checking out stuff in the France or Netherlands categories. They're not big "channels" there either, but again, so what? Cooking and Mystery are two channels here that aren't very big, but I'm still glad we have them.

Consider all the possibilities with Germany. You have German:

- music
- art
- history
- technology
- politics
- travel
- architecture

..and so on. Think about it.

This is not to say that your other channel ideas are bad. They all sound like they have potential. Therefore choose the one you like the most. You just made diamond, you earned the privilege, so don't leave it up to a committee. This is your chance to be boss. Whatever you decide I'm sure people here will be happy to submit videos for your new channel. Good luck!

If I wanted to harm Black Americans, I'd start by tagging my videos "B Hussein Obama", just so I'd could draw out the bigoted voter who would vote against a perceived Muslim, especially a BLACK Muslim. LiveLeak recently changed their player, so maybe VideoSift doesn't recognize the new player code as legit for sub-Gold members. That's my theory. Evidence: Look at the thumbnail image for "Fighter jets of the world" above the video on this page. It's the SiftBot thumbnail, which only shows up when posting a video that isn't on the approved list.

I think it's something that dag and lucky need to fix.

Movement conservatives don't like to admit to being wrong, so when they can't think of a decent argument, they will try to find some way to insult the source, or attack the style in which the information was presented, or declare that 'both sides are wrong'.

As you can see above, qm has still failed to provide any kind of rebuttal rather than emotionalism (everyone hates me-a Bush favorite) and a vague link to some fringe site that doesn't seem to address the content of this video anywhere on the front page.

Rather than get worked up, why not enjoy the aimless flailing of a frustrated person with no argument. I think it's better to publicly analyze these types of rhetorical styles/devices in order render them useless in the future. ^You nailed it, DFT. Truth be told, even I am not the biggest fan of Olbermann's rhetorical style, which is not to say that I hate it either. I just prefer a different style, that's all. Olbermann's humor usually isn't funny to me, I don't like how he repeatedly uses "sir" when addressing someone he clearly doesn't like, and I find it pretentious that he uses Edward R. Murrow's "Good night and good luck" tagline to close his broadcasts.

However the guy IS smart and he knows politics well. He hit the nail on the head with all three stories. For me its substance over style when it comes to news and politics. This isn't a music video, cartoon, or short film; it's fucking NEWS. So to downvote this solely because you don't like how the news is presented is shallow at best, and a downright lie at worst. If Olbermann were taking Obama to task because of Rev. Wright I have feeling Keith's style wouldn't matter to you any more, QM. Even if you wouldn't upvote it I doubt you would downvote either.
