I have to agree 100%. I'm getting very tired of the invalid stereotypical portrayal of a Canadian as a person wearing a red plaid shirt, a toque, and saying "Eh" about 20 times more frequently than anybody I've ever known. And his 10 things are either differences everyone is aware of or they're invalid. I've never used or heard the term soaker as he describes it, plenty of Canadians burn their marshmallows, and we've all eaten smores. Ironically, his comment about Americans who've never been anywhere is also applicable to him, at least when it comes to travelling within Canada. He comes across as a typical person who has grown up in Ontario and believes that the rest of us are just like him. Oh and yeah, he's just not funny.

Dragons - Overwatch Animated Short

I both agree and disagree with this statement. Yes, their cinematics are probably the best in the business. I think they rely on a "cartoony" style in their games to keep them from looking too dated. They don't go hyper realism in the games because when graphics improve, the look can easily lose effect.

Imo, you don't get that with cartoony looking graphics, like Overwatch or the WoW character design. There hasn't been much of a visual overhaul over the 10+ years of WoW.

My guess is they did Overwatch's style like that to separate them for WoW. I think it has a lot of potential to work well for them. I can see if they made hyper realistic cinematics for Overwatch, that they would be compared to the WoW cinematics. This way, it's a clean break.

Personally, I like the Pixar look to it. It's all in the eye of the beholder. =)

This is showcasing the New Generic. Blizzard used to push the boundaries for hyper-realism in CG, but everything from designs to animations in this is wrapped tightly in a security-blanket of technical and conceptual cliche.

I wonder what the effect of plastic particles will be on them. I was thinking they may be screwed by the sheer amount, but maybe the low metabolic rates may do something about that?

And Canadian coins enjoyed a period of being, uh, "surrogates" for some US coinage successfully.

Unfortunately, unless it has changed, in Ontario if the police pull over your vehicle and ask for your id, you have to give it to them. I believe that's the law, but it may have changed.

Hardcore Henry - Official Trailer

I saw it at TiFF as well last year. it was damn exciting and fun to watch. It's definitely not for everyone, but it will have a strong cult following. Some cool cgi mixed with some old school camera tricks.

I would watch this again in a heartbeat. =)

For what it is, the story is damn good.
