Do You Remember Life Before The Segway?

9364 says...

I think the Segway could have changed things. That is if walking wasn't almost as fast, healthy, and cost nothing. But if it cost me 6 grand to learn how to walk briskly, I probably would have opted for a Segway.

Is he going to turn left? No! Oh Sh.... BANG!

Bill Maher's final comment from Religulous (Spoiler)

9364 says...

Humans are tribal by nature. Religion is simply the motivation behind it. Do you really think the wars that we've waged as humanity since the early blossom of our history would not have happened if we hadn't been religious? Of course they would have, only a different scapegoat would have been found, not 'my god is better then your god'.

Rush YYZ - Played by a 13 Year Old Girl Drummer!

9364 says...

While very very solid for a 13 year old, she is quite loose, partially because of all the stick flipping, partially because her timing is just off by a touch.

Still for 13 she is damn good, better then I was at 14, though granted I didn't start playing until 14 and didn't have a set 1/2 that good until I was 18 lol.

As the comment says 'far better then anyone twice her age' isn't remotely true. Any 20'something drummer with a whiff of talent could drum circles around the girl. But if she keeps it up she'll be simply awesome by 20.

You're WRONG Bill! You're So WRONG Bill! You Don't Get It!

What a douche. I mean I've seen my share of douches, but this guy.. wow.

Container Ship Actually Bending In Heavy Seas

9364 says...

I'm sure it bends like that on design, like sky scrapers in a strong wind. But quite amazing to see in action. The last bit where the ship went up onto the wake and then crashed down and the water nearly rose as high as the deck, amazing.

CoD:WoW is crap. They should be playing several games of Left 4 Dead and Comedy Central KNOWS IT!

You mean CoD:WaW?
L4D would be hilarious.
No, you know what? That's the sort of game you'd want an entire EPISODE of SP to deal with, not just use in a single gag.

Yes 'WaW'

And yea, a whole episode dealing with the kids freaking out after playing Left 4 Dead or something, but alas the season is done and over. It's always far to short and feels like they do about 4 or 5 episodes every six months now adays. Far to few.

Crazy Storm Footage From Brisbane

9364 says...

I LOVE storms like this. So long as nobody gets hurt, I love them. They don't happen often in my area of Upstate NY but every once in a while we get a massive summer thunderstorm and I'm like these guys, right out in it.

Hitchens: Christianity is not imposed?

9364 says...

Wow how can that guy think it's not imposed. Perhaps 'by law' it isn't, but by scripture, it absolutely is (though it's only been through the centuries of reiteration that such 'imposition' was implemented.) How that guy convinced himself that Christianity is not imposed, at least philosophically, must have required quite the leap.

I would love to see the entire thing of this, anyone know if it can be watched in it's entirety online?

I find it funny that Christians, particularly the real hard core believers, think there is a war on Christianity. There certainly isn't a war, but it is true that they are being opposed more and more each year. This is an age of reason and there is no reason in Christianities dogma.

I respect the religious, being so myself, (though my faith is not part of any of the 'major' religions,) and I understand it on a psychological and physiological level as well as it's benefits, and I have beliefs that many would consider illogical if only for the evidence that has presented itself to me over the decades.

But even with that, the pure lack of reason and logic and the absolute warping of minds that goes on in countries like the US with Christianity, etc, is a travesty in my opinion and nothing less. One that is thankfully being over-come year by year.

Wall-E?

I was thinking the same thing. First iteration of the fat-peoples floating lounge chairs in Wall-E.

On a serious note, while this vehicle may not go anywhere in terms of real sales, (though IMHO it's way cooler then a Segway, which saw some success,) it's stuff like this that has put Asian cars on top for years. Innovation, that while may not pan out you bet your ass the technology will find its way into more realistic and modern vehicles.

I mean did you really think the US car companies were going to do good by spending a few million on development like this a year and 100 million in commercials showing their trucks avoid obstacle courses and fly out of buildings as they blow up but in the end it's the same truck as 4 years ago with the only real difference is it gets 15mpg instead of 12?
