Yep, according to some accounts, about 6 million people have died between '94 and today. I wouldn't say nothing has been done though. From what I've read, France and the US have actually had a bit of an impact on the central African situation. There has been evidence that the 1994 Rwandan genocide was sparked by the assassination of Rwanda's president. The act was carried out by American allies, the Rwandan Patriotic Front. The leader of the RPF (and now de facto leader of Rwanda) is Paul Kagame, who was trained in Texas. I also read that in 1996, a US Congressional inquiry discovered that President Clinton had secretly been sending military aid to Kagame's forces as they were overthrowing Kabila in Zaire.

I would be surprised if Bush was totally ignoring central Africa, especially considering Kagame's ties to America. I believe Kagame was first being groomed by Bush Sr.'s administration, too. We probably just don't know what actions are being taken.

While I'm an agnostic, I'm not convinced that America, as it is now, should be free of religion, organized or not. The country is very capitalist, and I think religion serves as a major check against the excesses of capitalism. I think there's a common belief amongst left-wing athiests in America that if religion could be defeated, left-wing ideals will suddenly become very popular, society would become more democratic. I think the opposite would be true. Left-wing ideals of equality would be quickly crushed by the inherently pro-inequality aspects of capitalism.

I've been to several air shows, but have always wanted to go to a "tank show" full of classic WW2 tanks. I'd like to see them actually go somewhat fast too. Kinda boring seeing them so slow.

I liked War3's orcs a lot better than the previous Orcs. They were a breath of fresh air. "Savage orcs" are present in 99% of fantasy settings so it was a pretty tired formula I was glad to see abandoned.

Still, I find it odd that Blizzard gave the Horde so many traits from real world non-white cultures. The Japanese Samurai Orc Blademaster who speaks Engrish, the Native American Tauren with their totems and such, and the Jamaican Trolls with their voodoo magic are some examples. The "Humans" are all based on white European cultures. I've come to expect a kind of race war element to alotta historically based games, as it makes sense there. But to bring it to a fantasy setting seems odd to me. And then to only give non-white traits to the monsters of the Warcraft setting... it's certainly eye brow raising. Was there some kind of political statement or historical lesson here? My memory is hazey on Warcraft 3's story, but I recall the Humans (ie "white people") unjustly imprisoning a great deal of Orcs (ie "non-whites").

lol. I actually play a Japanese fighter pilot in Bay's Pearl Harbor. I was HOPING to be caught in an explosion, as dying in an airplane explosion has been a dream of mine since the Wing Commander 2 game for the PC. Unfortunately I survive the movie. Sigh!
