Ann Coulter gets OWNED.

10317 says...

god,i really just dont like this woman.
she will modify any actual "truths" to fit her narrative,
which is one of almost constant bigotry, hate and divisiveness.
some people have postulated that it is all an act,but that makes her self-aggrandizing even that more repugnant.
to twist facts, quotes and practice revisionist history just to perpetuate
her hatred for those she disagrees with is not only disgusting, but weak
and lacks any form of imagination.
i find her intellectually dishonest, but she speaks to a legion of opinionated, misinformed and decisively ignorant sychophants(sp?).
she should be mocked rather than vindicated, but her fantastic ability to create controversy=equals ratings.
so as long as people will listen to her,to disagree or agree, she will always be given a platform to espouse her bigotry and hate.
just watching the video here, which i find gleefully apt in exposing her ignorance.she still wont admit to being wrong.
facts are subjective in coulter-world.
what a world class wanker.
till next time...peace.

Hamas in their own Voices

10317 says...

well said theintelligentsia,
religious dogma and rhetoric may be the TOOL,but this is about ethnic cleansing,
and genocide.
for thirty years the UN has put together a treaty to return to the sovereign borders made in 1967,the ONLY dissenters,EVERY year this has been proposed has been the U.S and isreal.
can someone tell me WHY?
because while some in the world look the other way,and others look upon this situation with horror.BOTH sides of this conflict seem to rationlize the brutality, torture and murder of the innocent,be they plaestinian or jew.
returning to 1967 agreed upon borders would bring some form of stabilization to the average citizenry, and make the inflammatory words we see in this video impotent.it would also strip the IDF from any reason to enter palestinian townships.
while not perfect,it seems to me that at least the average citizen would enjoy a modecum of peace not seen in decades.
i teach comparative religions.
what i see in this video is a total perversion of the words written in the quran.fundamentalists tend to do that, pervert and corrupt the words of scripture to justify their own desires.
i also have been following this story, quite closely, and each time i come to a wall of "why"?
why would they NOT go along with the accord set in 1967?
can someone help me understand this?
because if you take radical, fundamentalism out of the equation, for both sides, most people prefer peace.
so....why is isreal, along with america not agreeing to the original agreement?
please...anybody?
help me understand.

Marine explains how it is (NSFW for some language)

10317 says...

when i was in the navy years ago seemed every country we stopped, especially in the persian gulf(hated that tour, they didnt like americans at all, even back then) there were always kids begging..and yeah..it got annoying after awhile.
but thats not the reason im commenting.
it was the sentence "disillusioned peace/love monger then this might upset you"
uh....huh?
makes no sense..the words you chose are paradoxical.
maybe this sentence would be more apt.
"for those of you who politically correct, and are easily offended by foul language and brazen insensitivity then this video may upset you".
that sentence makes more sense.
those who have not been in combat readiness situations probably would not understand this mans humor.the constant threat of attack, followed by days upon days of boredom can de-sensitize people.
miltary and former military understand this, for the rest they most likely dont.
i think thats what you trying to get across,im not trying to put words in your mouth, nor be a smart ass( ok..i am a wee bit) but that one sentence made no sense.
anyways...i been there,done that,and yeah....its funny.
think you have to have been there to get it tho.
maybe thats just me.

Sam Harris Discussing Islam in the News - MUST SEE

10317 says...

agreed speveO.
the first thing thing that should have given anyone pause before watching this video----tucker carlson.
while i found mr harris argument as a whole vapid and totally lacking imagination,he did bring up an interesting point that maybe guitarwolf was trying to point out to us all.and that is many "liberals" don't understand religious fundamentalism.that there is a percentage of the human population that
believes the "bible" "torah" or the "quran" are the literal words of the creator,
and that the dogma of the semetic triad is absolute in it's perfection and righteousness.
this kind of zealotry may explain the execution of a cartoonist,or an abortion clinic doctor, these incidents, while getting huge amounts of attention, are fairly small in scope relative to the bigger picture.
religious fundamentalism may be the rationalization of suicide bombers and other geurrilla war tactics, but it is the seeking of social justice for those who have been given no other option.for those who have been oppressed, brutalized, tortured while the world largely looks the other way.
religion is not the REASON,its the rationalization.
fundamentalism at its core is a stagnation of the mind, stifles growth as a society and leaves people open to manipulation and exploitation.
and as long as the world looks the other way and dismisses the impoverished, these people will always be vulnerable to indoctrination of many forms, religious fundamentalism being only one facet.
take away the voice of those who are being exploited, oppressed and abused.
they WILL find a way to fight back, and be heard.
religion is only one small part of the dynamic, take it out of the equation and there STILL will be violent reactions from those who have had hope stripped from their lives.
mr harris quantifying his argument on "liberals" misunderstanding of "fundamentalism" by premising his entire argument on religion is laughable.
because his argument is one big straw man,and totally ignores the very REAL threats of the world today.
mr harris should hang his head in shame for such a pathetic argument.
that being said, and those being my feelings.
mr harris is selling his book, and he really just echoing a premise that has been used by many, for many years.
this fact is something i find saddening, because it just re-iterates a faulty premise to excuse those who have allowed the silencing of so many and are the ones truly responsible.
truly heartbreaking, and mr harris is guilty of keeping the "status-quo" narrative going.
and so the cycle continues........................................

Palestinian / Israeli Conflict

10317 says...

totally agree farhad.
i repost this on my blog every six months.
sometimes because it is taken down, but mainly because arundhati roys words are so poignant, succinct and have a poetic lilt that captivates the most A.D.D of us.
her words are honest and real, and helps many americans fit the missing puzzle pieces that they are not getting from traditional media.
if i had one video to post, only ONE,to help convey the way i think and what i would most like to convey...
this video would be it.
you can watch the film in its entirety at google video.

great post farhad,i really love your work.
namaste.

Occupation 101: Voice of the Silenced Majority

10317 says...

im glad farhad mentioned the balfor declaration.
britains bloody gift to the world.
i also agree that this documentary, like so many, has an agenda that is manipulative.
while correct in many of its facts,it "leaves" out other facts which may give us all a far better context.
sadly,i live in america, and in this country they know next to nothing about the true nature of the isreali/palestine conflict.
the only way to combat the agenda's of a select few,or to avoid being sucked in by propaganda is to do what we are doing here..
talking about it,sharing our thoughts and our own discoveries.
because the corporate media is not going to tell us,nor those with a political agenda.
it is up to us to sift through the mountain of information and make our own minds up.
sad...but true.
till next time..peace

Obama Part of the Unconstitutional Agenda?

10317 says...

wow,
think they could crank up the manipulative, selectively edited diatribe anymore?
is there a NWO arising?
yes, there is evidence abundant pertaining to that particular discussion.
is obama part of the machinations of those few elite and incredibly powerful?
i have yet to see evidence of that, and this video's blatant manipulation lends no credence to the claim.
i have seen some disturbing concessions obama has spoken about, but nothing in action yet.
this video adds nothing to the discussion but paranoia.
which i find disheartening and sad, because it is up to us to have the discussion.
call it my inherent distrust of those in power.
till next time..peace.

Creating a Nation of Idiots

10317 says...

my family is in the medical field,im the slacker who went and took a spiritual path.my oldest has a doctorate in bio-chem and has been saying this for YEARS,of course not with the frightening boogah-boogah that you get from this video.
and mi1ler,you are correct, but i believe those statistics are global.the use of sodium flouride and mercury as a preservative and prevention tool are western specific.
the example i can use is,for sake of argument:
last year the US graduated 20,000 engineers.
india graduated 200,000.
while even taking in the population curve ratio, that gap is MASSIVE.
take the boogah-boogah out of this video and its really not a bad warning tool.
i do agree with most here,i dont appreciate manipulative media,no matter what the agenda.
so its up to us to research, discuss and get to the heart of the matter.then take charge of our own destiny.
that destiny cannot be done alone, nor can it ever be achieved by trusting a corporate owned, run and single-owned media.
that system only seeks to perpetuate its own relevancy, which is to say:
keep the status quo.
its a small club, and you aint in it.
in conclusion, admonish the boogah-boogah aspect all you like,i agree with you,but dont dismiss arbitrarily the facts of mercury and flouride based solely on the boogah factor.
till next time..peace.

Five Biggest LIES About Christianity

10317 says...

i was totally suckered in until the "santa clause for adults",
and hollywood bob is correct.i live in the bible belt and what you see in this video in not as uncommon as you may think.
right now i am awaiting my court date due to a summons i received recently from a small town north of orlando called sanford.every other sunday i would do a lecture on early creationist myths.nothing big, maybe 20-30 people would attend, very informal at a small unitarian church.seems "focus on the family" thinks there is only ONE creation myth *cough* i mean historically accurate description of creation.(there are over 7000 for those of you interested)
now,to be frank,i have encountered fundamentalist christians all over the southeast, where i live, and i dont even attempt to engage them in a discussion of any type.not because i hate them, nor even because i disagree, but rather due to their incredible self-righteousness.the bible is the written word of god to them,i teach comparative religions and cultural religious history,so my
profession is in direct conflict with their entire belief system.
basically they view me as an enemy of god.
which is ironic to me considering i am an ordained minister.
think i would get in trouble if i sent this video to their website?

Kristol: The Next GOP Rat To Abandon Ship

10317 says...

agreed rougy.
the man is editor of PNAC,and an op-ed columnist for the NYT,he has been wrong on..well..EVERYTHING.
why do they give this man airtime at all?
he is on FOX every sunday, and STILL insists that the neo-conservative (i.e;PNAC)
is the correct foreign policy agenda to adhere to,even though it has become, not only an embarrassment, but also an epic FAIL.
i would not too much credence in what this espouses.

The Truth Hurts - Jerry Rubin on dope making sense!

10317 says...

notice something?
far-right "liberal"?
war-mongering "liberal"?
the media has changed the jargon, and most americans have collective A.D.D,
but it was true.
democrats tended to more hawkish, and the original phrase was "neo-liberal" founded in the early 40's by university of chicago professor leon strauss.
interesting clip,thanks for posting.
phil donahue a republican? lol

"Arab = Muslim = Terror = War"?

10317 says...

@anyprophet,
islam created one of the most egalitarian societies the world had ever known up to that point (500 a.d).while europe was descending into the dark ages, the islamic arab world was blossoming.women had more rights under islam than any other of the world religions at the time.islam encouraged science, learning and the arts.
the islam you see today is fractured and myopic.many of the texts in the quran have been perverted to facilitate agendas that have little to do with islam, but everything to do with regional politics, power and corruption.what americans see of islam is a small fraction, usually slanted, and small in scope.
the majority of muslims in the world are not represented in american media,so americans form a distorted view of islam based on twisted information.
it is not uncommon for religious text, doctrine and dogma to be skewered for selfish reasons.the same has been done with christianity, and also judaism.
if you would like to read about islam to gain a far greater understanding, but do not wish to study the quran,i suggest "no god,but god" by iranian born reza aslan.a very easy to read and highly informative book on islam, and its current struggle with its own reformation.
till next time..peace.

AlJazeera In Redneck Country (HILARIOUS & SAD)

10317 says...

the ignorance is mind-blowing.
the last time i checked,13% of americans believed Obama to be muslim,
lets consider for a moment that 12.5% of america's population are fundamentalist, evangelical christians...
coincidence?
these are the very "base" that we see political pundits espousing in the corporate media.
these are our neighbors, and it saddens me to no end how badly they are being used.
it is one thing to be informed, know the facts and disagree with obama's position.
it is quite another to STILL believe obama is muslim.
that he was sworn in on the quran.
that he refuses to say the pledge of allegiance.
the list goes on,all meant to instill fear, apprehension and suspicion,
and ALL of these have been debunked, and proven to be false.
yet here we are, with 13% of our citizenry STILL buying into the propaganda.
"a democracy can not thrive, nor flourish, without an informed citizenry".
Thomas Jefferson

it is not only a right to vote, but a duty, and part of that duty is active participation in the electoral process.
i would also add that part of that participation should include becoming informed.while i find the republican exploitation of evangelicals reprehensible,i find people like this just as culpable.
ignorance is curable....stupid is not.
shame on these people...is it laziness..or just irresponsibility?
someone please enlighten me on this point, because while i can understand someone having faith in the written word,it is beyond me how people like this can continue to be so ignorant when facts are so available.
are they choosing ignorance?willfully ignorant?
someone please help me understand why a person would do that, its beyond reason.
