On some videos, I have to turn the volume up really high to hear them. Then if I forget to turn the volume back down before clicking on anything else I get blasted in a painful way. Even within a single movie sometimes the disparity between the loudest moments and the quietest whispers is too much. Do you know of any software that will automatically limit the volume, so that it's always audible but never too loud? All the "volume normalization" software I found in 5 minutes of googling only deals with converting mp3, midi, and other audio files.
