Second Ever VideoSift Meet Up

Securedesk and I drove to Montreal for New Year’s this weekend.

In the process we learned that Sega apparently survived the failure of the Genesis system by switching to casino games and that Montreal's stores stay closed on the second of January too. So much for shopping.

More importantly, we met up with Farhad to ring in the new year, and to celebrate the second ever Videosift Meet Up. James did it first, meeting with oohahh and swinginpagan in Portland five months ago.

We were able to accomplish a great deal, including scoring a free Sift endorsement for a beer company, and a celebratory New Year's dinner at Farhad's friend's house.

Thanks again to Farhad and his friends for hosting us - it was a really fun night - and some video was recorded. I look forward to seeing the Cat in the Liquor Bag again one day.

Seeing as how more Meet Ups will occurs in the future, I figured out in the back of my mind what the main guidelines are for this sort of thing to ‘count’:

1. You need at least 3 Sifters,

2. It has to be in a location that is ‘foreign’ to at least one of them.

I only mention that to remove the temptation to call any gathering with three sifters from the same city a Meet Up. I know about twice as many Sifters from Toronto, so that would quickly get scary.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

What? You mean your are not really a giant cowboy tooth and a riot cop? My mental picture is completely blown.

Sounds like fun. I hope we see more of these kinds of meet-ups in the future. I'll be in the US sometime this summer- I would like to participate. Also - I'm surprised you are not drinking Canadian.

Discerning Canadians don't drink much... Canadian. Just like that whole Aussies and Fosters thing.

Only Farhad's bottle hovered. Something to do with the centrifugal forces on the cat.

Krupo says...

Oh, don't be mistaken, I've sampled just about everything the depanneurs and SAQ's have to offer during my various visits.

Caribou sounds interesting - I think I can make it at home, though.
