*Save not working for me.

I'm trying to do my first save here.
http://www.videosift.com/video/X-Were-Desperate-80s-LA-Punk-Scene

Siftbot tells me "Please wait..." and nothing happens. After a few minutes I refreshed the page and my comment was saved but the video remained discarded. I attempted a second time thinking maybe I gave up to fast but the page has been sitting at "Please wait..." for about 10 minutes now.

Am I doing something wrong?

I believe it's listed somewhere in the invocations lists, or the "what can I do with my star?" section in the faqs.
If you want to "save" your own, you need to do a "requeue" before it expires. Only once every 2 days.
anyway, I've saved this one for ya...

Thanks and thanks. I would have requeued but we didn't have that option back then. When I looked at what I could do with a gold star all I could see in regards to the save command was "#save - send a queued or discarded video to the top of the queue for another chance". I also couldn't find any details on the save command such as how often it can be used etc... Does the same go for the promote command (can't use it on your own videos)?

I think the star powers faq was written from the perspective that they are all invocations you can perform on other's posts, thus the footnote about notdead and discard being performed on users' own posts. But yeah, that should probably be clarified.

On your profile page, it shows a countdown timer for when you can next use save and promote.

Siftbot should definitely respond to promote and save attempts on one's own vids with an appropriate meatbag response.

I kind of see what your saying...but then that would mean assuming that dead, findthumb, blog, and return, can not be done to your own posts along with save and promote. Also if you look at the [channel subdomain] and nochannel commands they both note (not for your own post) at the end.

I think we all agree (not for your own post) should be added to the end of save and promote to make things clearer for us gold noobs. Of course if siftbot would have told me "you can't do that to your own post" instead of just hanging at "Please wait..." it would have been made known at that point instead of making me think something wasn't working.

If it is a matter of trying to keep those descriptions short and sweet then perhaps a second footnote could be added "2 may NOT be performed on your own post".
