Just an observation...

I'm wondering if the VideoSift web site is not clearly letting first time users know the rules of VideoSift when they sign in, specifically the rule of self linking.

I never really stepped back and pretended to be a new user to this site since I've been here for two years, but I have noticed a distinct uptick in self linkers. Some are obviously just advertisers, but I recently just found another, and it would appear the poster genuinely did not know about the self linking rule.

So I decided to look at VideoSift in a different eye. There really is no glaring warnings to video posters (specifically to first time video posters) that self linking is not allowed. Specifically, I think there should be a brief warning on the submit video page which is in bold and probably a different color that says, "Do not self link! Read the FAQ for more information."

Unless new users are nosy and happen to read the FAQ or have been lurking here forever, they are never going to know that self linking is not allowed. Then they all get banned and pissed off.
