what this does do, however, is reaffirm exactly what kinds of videos the masses here on the sift will vote for... Simpsons, Family Guy, people hurting themselves, and general WTF?ness.

Yea, I'm with you on that Raven. People come to this site on their lunch breaks or whatever and they're probably not looking to learn about Islam or watch a documentary, they're just looking to be entertained, so it makes sense that those collectives are at the top.
