Idea: Sifted Video order number

Here is an idea:

The Front sift should indicate with its posted videos, what order number they have in the sift.

If you're like me, you want to make sure you don't miss your chance to view a sifted video. A few days away from the Sift, and you're hunting down the last video you left off and catching up on the latest ones. Sometimes it's not so easy, with pages 1 to 5 no longer having the same videos as others get pushed down the line.

At present count, there are 43295 videos sifted, with the latest one (#43295) sifted 33 minutes ago.

I can't tell which were sifted before or after it.

If each video indicated what number they were, you can keep track where you left off and make sure you get up to speed.

I suggest that videos, like that last one, indicate in small among its other info (published by...how long ago • with how many views, and the tags), it's order number in the Sift (#43295) with perhaps a link to those pages in reverse order to the latest video (#43295 with the latest 10, say up to #43305).

Just suggestin'. Hope this wasn't too complex.

Yeah,
I've no TV.

When I started on VS, I actually did start on the last page and worked my way up. I had missed some in between though because as the videos get sifted through, you can miss some that fall on the page you were on as you go back a page after watching those videos.

Edit:
I don't actually watch every freakin' video, but I do try to come across every video. I peruse each one.

I was thinking just those published, as those unsifted are so fluid with being published, promoted, requeued, discarded, dead, etc.

Some of these happen as well to those published (promoted puts them at another point in the sift, dead ones get out completely) - I suppose the listing can be sure to account for this (dead: not listed, promoted: I've no idea).

You could subscribe to the RSS feed for sifted videos, that way you don't miss anything. I subscribe to the Sift Talk/Blogs, but not many people use this feature. Per Google Reader only 3/4 people subscribe respectively.
