We made a change last night so that video thumbnail images will be stored at about double the resolution we were previously using.

This means we'll incur more bandwidth (and at a greater expense), but most all videos should now have a better quality thumbnail attached.

Of course if the video host doesn't provide high resolution thumbnail images, there's nothing we can do about that (except upload a better thumbnail), but at least YouTube does provide excellent images.
