Dupe Videos... the eternal struggle.

Hey all,

First off sorry to Fedquip, didn't mean to dupe a video you had already snagged.
I'm sure that this is not a new issue at all and has had plenty of time spent in discussion. I recently posted a video that was Bill Moyers giving his thoughts on Rupert Murdoch. Before posting it I searched "Bill Moyers" and Rupert Murdoch" neither of which resulted in finding the video on the sift. I assumed (wrongly) that it wasn't on the sift yet considering that both did result in 3 pages of videos to search. Netrunner brought it to my attention that it was a dupe and I quickly discarded it. I was a little upset with myself for not finding it before posting and found out that it could be found by only typing "Moyers" or "Murdoch."
I don't want this to sound like I'm whining about it at all, I just want to make sure that I don't do it again, it just seemed really odd that they wouldn't come up in the original search.
I'll be MUCH more thorough in my future searches... but does this seem wierd to anyone else. I understand the title was just "Moyers on Murdoch"

No worries, its happened to me too. I'm not sure what's up with the search, you'd think if you typed in Bill Moyers it'd find something tagged as just Moyers.

Also to anyone who has ever gotten a little note from me correcting your spelling in your tags or title, I'm not a spelling Nazi, I do it to combat dupes. So really I'm a hero praiseme

Fedquip says...

No worries, best way to avoid dupes is to be as descriptive as possible with your title and tags (although myself sometimes forget that) this way the Sift engine will find the best related videos during the preview screen.
