That's a pretty good idea ren. Maybe we could incoporate something like that into the new front-end. (which is still coming)

Very valid idea but one of the aspects I'm most fond of on this site is its simplicity. To you it is using valuable space, but to me its cluttering up space unnecessarily.

Final Thoughts: Add the feature as an option. If you like it, then most likely other people do too. If I don't, others probably don't too. If it is an option, both people are satisfied with a toggle.

Yeah, i suspect i would have more room than others with 1600x1200 res, and would be hard to design for all setups.

Even just a random single comment under the vid would be cool to keep the space usage down.

I've seen sites w/ comments "ticker" on the front page, how about that?

It might encourage comment participation.

but seriously ... i think it's a great idea. i would not use it to determine if i watch a video or not, but to merely read other opinions on it.

I agree that it is the simplicity that pleases me. My thought is that if you have something to say about the video, it can be done with a comment.

Have you seen the Australian cats in the SiftOff? They did the French Chef. My favorite line is, "It is nice here. We think you live in caves! ...but no."

hehe they look alot cuter than they are. Lazy buggers just sit in the tree chewing leaves, and have some of the sharpest claws around to match their short temper.
