^False (kind of). The submitter of a video can *dupeof his/her own post and it will take effect immediately. There is a bug in siftbot's logic that made him ignore you, but it will be fixed momentarily.

Has this been fixed? because I tried to do it to a video I submitted and all I got was some lip from siftbot

@lucky760, I've got * dupeof linked and available as one of my possible invocations as a silver star, but I wasn't able to do it in the following case:

Is this related to the bug discussion we're having? The FAQ reads that dupeof is available to gold star members and above, but it's definitely appearing for me as though it should be available at my level as well.

It was just a error with the invocation listing. It should have been shown disabled for you, and that's how it should look now. Thanks for reporting.
