Calling all VideoSift Lurkers

We know from our stats that we have a large percentage of members who have not commented but still visit regularly. Inspired by the comment in this thread by dee, I'm doing a call out to all lurkers to de-lurk here in the comments of this blog post. That's right - turn off the cloaking device, and let us know you're there. For me, I'd just like to know who you all are - I know you're out there.

Hey dee, I left you some advice in your first post; note that you need the "embed" code and not the URL when posting videos. Check out videosift help for details; hopefully the info in the comments will guide you.

I lurked videosift for a long time before deciding to contribute. And I'm glad I did -- videosift is truly the cat's meow.

Funny aside: I work for adobe (from macromedia) and justify my videosifting for "research" purposes!

Most of us don't have the time to contribute That's why we use videosift! Great site btw. One thing - the front page kills my (average spec) computer, it doesn't like all those flash players at once. Guess it doesnt happen to you guys..

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

What are your specs ivix? if you don't mind me asking. We've tested it on a few platforms and most seem to come up OK. I have noticed that some of the new hosts like iFilm seem to hog a bit more resources than YouTube and GV.

ivix, have you used easyubuntu?

I set up my GF's computer (a dell with almost same specs including celeron processor) with ubuntu linux installed and used easyubuntu to get the most up to date flash, video drivers, media codecs, etc. After I used that, everything runs great for her.

You might try that if you havent yet. just google easyubuntu.

Trouble is...I'm with so many sites it's hard to get around to commenting on everything I see. If it turns my crank or I think someone needs encouragement, I comment. BTW Dag - you do know what a "dag" is Downunder, don't you?
