Calling all CSS Sift Wizards

I'm going to get all housekeeping technical for a moment.

We had a float display bug for IE in which the text would disappear on the post titles until hovered over.

This was fixed with the famous "Holly Hack" as follows:

/* Hides from IE5-mac */
* html div#content {height: 1%;}
/* End hide from IE5-mac */

But that fix has created a problem in that if the IE window is smaller then 1024 wide, the entire left side container now goes under the sidebar. Yuck.

We have been scratching our head on this one and trying a few things to no avail, so we're putting it to the sift-brain-bank.

wow.. after reading this post, i decided to actually have a look at the site structure.. and.. HOLY NESTED <div>s BATMAN!

i'm not touching that thing. Good luck though. Left container going under the sidebar has happened to me a couple of times but my window was definitely 1280 wide. doesn't seem to happen now though, even at less than 1024. Is it already fixed?

I noticed the invisible text thing, and the videos popping under the sidebar. I just didn't mention it cuz it wasn't too big a deal, I just had to make the window wider. I use AOL browser BTW
