Big problems with putting vids to a collective!
Hi lovely admins,
i recently joined the video (games) collective to publish some of my videos there. But somehow, that doesn´t work. The only thing that works is, when I submit a new video to the queue and put it immediately on the right collective. This doesn´t work in any other case, even when I edit the video. I can only choose from "associate with no collective" or the "Bit of Parody" collective. The "Video (game)" collective does not appear in this dropdown menu.
Can you please tell me where the problem is? That makes me a little bit crazy

ypsilonThe Video (game) collective? about a week. Today Oatmeal kicked an reinvited me to his collective to see if this changes this situation, but it does not.
ZifnabAs far as I understand it, you can only add videos to a collective that you were a member of *before* the video was posted. So if you posted a video, then joined the Video (Games) Collective you would not be able to add the video you posted before you were a member of the collective. Any videos you post after you are a member of the collective can be added to the collective. Hope that helps.
bl968Can this be changed? It should let you put it in any collective you are a member of, no matter when you joined, provided it wasn't set to a collective previously...
James Roewell the reasoning bl968 behind that is that a user like dotdude for instance, could change all of his videos to his parody collective. Not that that's very likely right now, but we try to make policies that give us room for growth.

bl968You could make a gold or diamond ability which can uncollective a video.
loorisi personally like it as it is now.
if you could add old videos to a collective, "the collective game" wouldn't be fun anymore. at least, it would be less fun.
