Apparently any comment by gold star member can save a video
I have this video posted:
http://www.videosift.com/video/Lego-train-lays-its-own-track
I discarded it to post other stuff. bizinichi commented on it, and voted for it. He did not invoke siftbot at all, but the video went back to the queue.
Which reminds me of another question. Why are my total links always one more than my published plus queued links?

If you have gotten any quality post points it will not match up with your actual totals. I have gotten one quality post point and so my total should be off by one.
mine is off by 3 or 4, more or less. dunno why.
anyway, if you want to know the *real* value, place your mouse over your star, and it will say you how many *real* published videos you do have.
to clarify: I made the comment on the video AFTER it was discarded by farcrafter, but on a previously loaded page where it was still in the queue.
I don't remember when I voted for it, in terms of before the discard action or after it (but it was before the comment though).
Doing this somehow nullified farcrafter's discard action and put it back into the queue.
Wierd huh
also, your total might be off if you have a few dead vids you don't know about as they still count as a link until they are discarded... that's usually the signal for me to start looking through my posts for deadun's since siftbot and my spamfilter do not get along.
Sift Talk posts count toward your total posts.
Here's my theory, you clicked UPVOTE on a discarded video by having the page still open from before.
This means potentially, you can go around hacking up the discard pile and vote everything back into the queue.
i dont know if this was a fluke or if it is reproducable.
if it is reproducable its a pretty big bug here, if anyone can send DISCARDED videos back into the queue by simply :
(2 possible ways)
upvoting it on a page open from before the discard
or
commenting on a page open from before the discard
i think you're right joe, its probably the upvoting it that caused it to come back into the queue
