The Fluoride Deception

rembar says...

Lol, Rembar can speak in third person, Rembar thinks Qruel should decide whether he thinks the government should be listened to on terms of scientific research or not before he uses the government's opinion as evidence in an argument. Rembar also thinks Qruel should stop trying to put words into Rembar's mouth about what Rembar thinks about water fluoridation, and instead concentrate on the fact that Rembar thinks Qruel needs to actually read and analyze the scientific papers that Rembar has cited before Qruel starts talking about being closeminded without any sense of irony.

Message repeats:

As I have said several times, respond to my large-scale comment and prove you have a scientific analytical ability worth a damn, something you have failed to prove multiple times in the past. In particular, make sure to counter the papers and metastudies that I cited and negate their findings and/or conclusions as I have asked you repeatedly, a request you have repeatedly ignored and tried to hurry over by copy-pasting shit everywhere. I am unimpressed by your Google-fu, and scientific truth is not swayed by democratic vote. Long story short, as long as people want to bawww about how I run my channel, I will laugh from my ivory tower and hold the Science channel to scientifically-acceptable standards with an iron fucking fist.

Message will repeat as necessary. I'll be waiting.

Devout Christians beware - Teh GAYZ are coming to your town!

snoozedoctor says...

I like the simplicity of "No government has the right to outlaw an activity unless it harms a person without his informed consent." In a relationship of 2 people, that works fine. When you add the third person into the mix, the question becomes "Do I outlaw or punish an activity by Citizen A, that might cause Citizen B to murder Citizen C, without his consent."

That's where the government interference gets to be a problem. In Eric's example, people are being told they can't express their non-violent philosophy. (Limiting freedom of speech.)
However, I do hope I can call the cops to intervene if someone is in my front yard exhorting a crowd to kill me because of something I have said. (I'd better check to see if they're already there.)

It's a tough call, but I think most of us would rather have some personal responsibility in the equation. Just because someone exhorts you to kill another doesn't mean you have to do it. In this world of imperfects, it increases the chances they will, (as evidenced by every suicide bomber that detonates), and therein is the compromise, practical versus ideal.

Mitt Romney's speech: Faith in America

deedub81 says...

Mormons believe the Holy Bible to be the word of God. They don't believe that they can take heed to some of God's words and not others. They believe that the Ten commandments are just as relevent today, as when they were given to the Israelites in ancient times.

Matthew Chapter 7 - "...21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. .....26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man,..."

Some "Christians" believe that they don't have to do anything but accept Jesus as their Savior in order to be saved. Satan has fooled them into thinking that they don't need to do anything beyond that. Mormons believe that it is our works that we will be held accountable for.

And your references about God always being God don't back up the point you are trying to make:

Duet. 4:39 - Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Mormons believe this to the letter!
. There is but one Father of Heaven and Earth and we worship none other, but Him.

Psalms 93:2 - Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

Mormons believe that God is Eternal.

Isaiah 40:28 - Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Mormons believe that God does not change. He is perfect and will be for eternity.

Romans 16:26 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the bobedience of faith:

Again, Mormons believe in and worship the Almighty and Everlasting God.

Here are Mormon scriptures that relate to the Atonement:

From the Book of Mormon
Alma 34: 8-9, 11-12
8 And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
9 For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.
• • •
11 Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his own blood which will atone for the sins of another. Now, if a man murdereth, behold will our law, which is just, take the life of his brother? I say unto you, Nay.
12 But the law requireth the life of him who hath murdered; therefore there can be nothing which is short of an infinite atonement which will suffice for the sins of the world.

And from the Old Testament:

Lev. 5:16
16 And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath done in the holy thing..."

Mormon doctrine doesn't tell us specifically what will happen in the afterlife to those who murder in this life. Only that it is required of us to provide restitution of sins commited in order to be forgiven in this life. If one murders, he cannot give back the life he took. Thier punishment is up to Jesus Christ. He is the judge.

The Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe that Jesus Christ is Jehovah. Mormons do.

The Way International, and Oneness Pentecostals believe that Jesus Christ and God the Father are seperate beings. Mormons share this belief.

If Jesus Christ and God are the same "person" who is Jesus praying to in these scriptures?

Luke 23: 34
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...

Matt. 26: 39, 42
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
• • •
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

...and why would Jesus confuse us by speaking about the Father in the third person in these scriptures if they were the same "being"?:

John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:28
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I ago unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 14:31
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

And here is a scripture which references The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost being present but seperate. The Father speaks from heaven to Jesus at His baptism:

Luke 3:22
And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Also, Mormons believe that God created us in His image. We are his offspring and have eternal potential.

Gen. 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Mormons believe that...

-"...those who are worthy to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ become “heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17) of all that the Father has. They will return to live with Heavenly Father and with their families in His eternal glory." ( Mormon.org)

Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Scientology: Inside the Church of Scientology

friendlymentor says...

I just wonder how much of this film is 'undercover.' It seems to me that most of it is shot by a third person who is certainly obvious. Unfortunately, this whole clip makes Scientology much more important than it is, and therefor advertises it. A lot of people like getting mixed up with things that are obviously bogus, so pointing it out just lures them closer. All of these mind breakers need to be horse whipped and then eaten alive by fire ants.

God loves you -- fail to reciprocate and he will torture you

marr says...

I think the guy in this video needs to understand something: If God didn't love you, He wouldn't warn you about the consequences. He would just let you suck at life, thinking you were alright, and then at the end cast you into hell. And yet, we know that God is Love - and therefore, in regard to the imperfection of the video's analogy, I agree in this regard:

It is not as if God is holding the knife to your throat. He is not out to threaten you into Loving Him. (What kind of Love would THAT be??? It would not be Love at all.) More like you are falling onto the knife, and you can choose to reach out for rescue or not. With regard to not being able to 'see God', if you were falling onto the knife and there was a sign next to it that said, REACH OUT HAND TO BE RESCUED, I think the atheists among us would be characterized as thinking, "Wait a second. This sign doesn't PROVE that sticking out my hand for rescue will actually get me rescued," and so they choose not to. The faithful chooses to believe, and does it.

So that is the Atheist and the Faithful. But there is a third kind of person. This is the one who does not yet believe the sign, but FIRST reaches out his hand and yells out in sincerity, "Show me that you're there!" This 'third person' is actually what EVERY 'Faithful' person has once been. The faithful were ALL atheists until they humbled themselves, cried out, and discovered that someone was indeed there.

My point is that in order for you to be rescued, you first have to believe that rescue is possible. If you just reach out your hand, and do not believe, well, you're just sticking your hand out, and not sticking it out to be rescued, aren't you? One might argue, "Well, doesn't God love everyone? Me, included? Wouldn't He just grab me by the back of my undies and wedgie me to safety?" Yes, He does love you, even though you go around defaming Him. But, if you CHOOSE to end up a rotten tomato, the gardener will not give you to the chef, and you will be thrown away. It is not more complicated than that.

You choose. You face whichever consequence. You take responsibility for yourself unless you choose to give that responsibilty to the gardener.

The good news is it is perhaps not that immeadiate, and we all have a goodly time to read and understand and think about the message on that sign before we actually hit the knife. But make no mistake, when the time comes that the knife has entered your body, time is up. (When I wrote this, I laughed because I sounded like such a fear monger, but really, if what I wrote worries you, it is not because I have created the fear in you, it is because I have spoken the truth and you do not like it.)

In closing, I'd like to add that God didn't make you so that you would "worship" Him like a blind fool. God made you in order to share Himself with you. If you were pure Love, pure Light, there is absolutely nothing else you could do BUT create someone to share yourself with. Otherwise, you wouldn't be pure Love, would you.

I up-voted this, and dropped my usual third person, because I want everyone, to read my comments over and over and over and over, until they wake the fuck up!!! Because there are still people out there who think we have a chance to salvage this nation through political process..........you delude yourselves.....

Kurt Vonnegut (November 11, 1922–April 11, 2007)

choggie says...

As it happens, as does all life and death, chance, luck, destiny, and fate, as well as karma, (for all you atheists and Mennonites), Kurt found a way to bow out gracefully, what anyone can expect from a trip through the glass darkly....

Dropping the third person for a tick, MY absolute favorite fiction/friction writer, hands down....If you have never read ANY Vonnegut, start with anything he wrote, and become instantly addicted.....unless you are the antichrist, or a teamster.....

Love You Kurt, may you be welcomed into the afterlife by a beginning with a gradual process of dissolution, in which the senses and energies that worked in cooperation with consciousness degenerate by stages.....or by Phil Hartman in dreadlocks and pasties!!!

Oh and he fell down went boom, alla Evolution in Action.....good thing he spread his seed about a bit.........TIMES SEVEN!!!!!(dear lord, please send me back as a fig on the family tree......hope for the future, comes in screaming packages....)

2004: Teen Stripped, Molested in McDonalds Office

LadyBug says...

ahhhhhhhhhh yes ... that's where we saw it!!! the milgram experiment!!!

this is technically not a dupe, as this video is an interview with those involved in the mcdonald's case.

it's really disgusting that it took over 3 hours and a third person to finally stand up for another person's rights as a human being.

Conjoined Twins

LadyBug says...

choggie ... you've really crossed the line this time ... do not project what you think others are thinking when they watch this clip. just because you feel a certain way, does not mean everyone else does.

my daughter and i watched this earlier last week on tv. i actually asked my son if he wanted to sit and watch with us, but he had no interest after the first few minutes (because it was about girls!! i think it was the 'cooties' factor).

these girls are amazing ... they've adapted so well, which sounds weird because this is the only way they know how to live ... of course they've adapted! lol

anyway ... it is so nice to see what happy, young ladies they are growing up to be despite their differences ... the benefits of a loving, supportive family!

(p.s. - when one continually refers to themselves in the third person it's just plain creepy ...)
