Legislation Without Representation

volumptuous says...

Like I said before, the GOP is lucky they didn't get 1,073 xerox'd images of Obamas cock.

They had all the time in the world to work with the majority party, and Obama bent over backwards to include them in the process. Instead, they did what they're best at, which is screwing over the country in favor of winning a couple cheap political points. Which in the end, backfired, because the country is smarter than their "representatives".

LHC and Faith-Based Science (Science Talk Post)

Some people could give a shit. I was explaining this thing to a few people about a year ago. Guess who was asking questions about it once it was all over the news...same people. The bell curve has reached a point where the less and less informed are becoming somewhat enlightened on the topic. However, whenever this happens there seems to be a "xerox" effect on the information that's passed along.

Indie Movie Music

my15minutes says...

hey!
i have the perfect script for this!

it opens with a shitty montage of Rochester, NY and how every tech job at Kodak, Xerox, and Bausch & Lomb has been outsourced.
then it cuts to the protagonist's shitty breakup with a quirky single mom 5 years ago, while his brother develops a shitty crack habit, despite knowing better, because he's the only guy having an even shittier time than the protagonist!

i'm just trying to work in a Good Will Hunting-type ending,
without making it feel like a deus ex machina.

oh, and it needs a director.
the one we hired is way too much of a perfectionist.

See how silly this plagiarism thing is?

LeadingZero says...

Here's another instance of Hillary "plagiarizing", and this one from what most view as the most effective lines of her debate performance in Austin, Texas.

Bill Clinton, New Hampshire, 1992: "The hits that I took in this election are nothing compared to the hits the people of New Hampshire are taking every day." *

Hillary Clinton, February 21, 2008: "You know, the hits I've taken in life are nothing compared to what goes on every single day in the lives of people across our country."

Another Xerox moment, perhaps? Certainly a double standard. I don't really think this is plagiarism of course. She's simply borrowing an effective theme from Bill here. This would be perfectly acceptable were it not for her ridiculous attacks against Obama for using powerful speech lines from his friend and supporter Deval Patrick.

*Note: It appears that Bill Clinton used variations of this line in speeches in 1992 and in 1996.

Why can't American photocopy paper commercials be like this?

kronosposeidon says...

^I did my BEST search for this before posting it, i.e., I used terms like "copy", "copy machine", "copier", "photocopy", "photocopier", "xerox", "paper", etc, yet I found no dupes. If one exists I'll discard this one pronto, and then seek counseling.

More accurately this could be called "Where your OS really came from."

It's a shame, really. You have to wonder where we'd be now if Xerox upper management had their priorities in order. PARC was 10-20 years ahead of the times depending on which technology you look at; Ethernet LAN, WYSIWYG, WIMP GUI, laser printers, InterPress and OOP; and Xerox abandoned the project because they were afraid computers would destroy the paper business.
