owow, i get to actually argue because i don't have to simply correct facts??!? WHAT?!?

Oh you!

You DO care.

I wish you included sources for these quotes? best i can tell is it's from my link?

Whatever, look, give this man a badge. He posted something with ONLY factual data and then even separated his opinion from that. Right on dude.

Now, about the arguments themselves and your opinion, idk man. Look. You can't cherry pick this data like that. THAT is dishonest. Have you ever considered that most of this data come from a period in time where MOST schools were not physically in session? A time period where parents were being more cautious?

And yes, kids are of course less likely to die from this? DURRRRRR they are less likely to die from everything compared to a septuagenarian.

That's not the point you fucking dumbass
https://www.goerie.com/story/news/coronavirus/2021/04/20/covid-19-daily-update-coronavirus-cases-erie-county/7298744002/

Kids get it, kids spread it. Schools being closed stopped more spread than you can imagine.

But let me say that again.

Kids
get
it.

Kids
spread
it.

You know any dumb-asses that don't want to get vaccinated because BLAH BALH BLAH BULLSHIT BLAH BLAH BLAH fucking duckspeak. ie no good reason? Those people are at risk and more importantly,

THE MORE THIS KEEPS SPREADING THE MORE CHANCES EXIST FOR MUTATION THAT SIDESTEPS CURRENT PREVENTION OR CURRENT VACCINES - and then we are REALLY fucked.

Facts checked.

"Seventeen states and DC reported more than
500 cases per 100,000 children.."

"Mortality (44 states and NYC reported)*•Children were 0%-0.8% of all COVID-19 deaths, and 20 states reported zero child deaths"

{{ ie 100 to 99.2% of child covid cased lived}}}

"In states reporting, 0%-0.3% of all child COVID-19 cases resulted in death.."

{{ ie 100 to 99.7% of child covid cased lived}}}

Facts checked.
KIDS are ok to go to school = also all people under 70 ( unless u have some condition) should go about your business.

Were are at about 5 trillion in payouts to keep kids / people home for 0/03% death rate.

Fake news scared tooooo many people.

Covid Deaths Trump Vs Biden

Mordhaus says...

I don't disagree that Trump could have handled many aspects of the pandemic better, but I think your numbers are a bit off.

One, because with the lack of a vaccine, experts are unsure of how many of the deaths can be laid specifically at Trump's feet. In other words, they are unable to put a solid number to how many would have died had he done anything different. It certainly would not be 80-90%, that is a nearly unproveable claim in the face of no vaccine being available. The closest estimate is from the Lancet Commision, which suggests that 40% could be Trump's fault, along with four decades of "long-standing flaws in US economic, health, and social policy" that compounded inefficiencies in the country's public-health systems before the pandemic. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)32545-9/fulltext

If you look at statistics, Biden's administration was running at similar death numbers than Trump's for a couple of months after he took office. They only began to decline rapidly since the vaccine became more available. Vaccine availability is more of a factor of how fast the companies were able to make the vaccine, versus anything Biden could have done. His contribution, if you will, is primarily not stockpiling a reserve and sending it out as fast as possible. The current death rate is running about the same as from May 2020 to November 2020. The winter surge was about as bad as everyone expected.

Here is a link that shows the deaths on a timeline. Select "deaths' instead of "cases". https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/04/01/coronavirus-covid-live-updates-us/

@bobknight33 you ignorant slut.....

80-90% of all US covid deaths are because of Trump's total bungling of the pandemic. Most due to his denying it was anything but flu for months and encouragement of his followers to ignore and fight against public health measures. Every death since July is because of Trump's disastrous response, and most deaths before July but not all. After two months, Biden's administration has cut deaths by 60%+.

So yes, anyone responsible for that many deaths should not remain president, and he didn't despite the fraud fraud and attempted overthrow of democracy he perpetrated.

This is why we can't have nice things

I knew about the "planned obsolescence" of bulbs and nylon stockings, but this video had more details.

I gotta call B.S. on the "everlasting LED bulb" comment he makes at the end. I've had many LED bulbs fail after 2 years when they are supposed to last at least 8. Most of them Feit brand. Sure I could request a warranty replacement, but I'd have to pay shipping both ways, which costs more than getting a new one.

Apple has had class-action battery lawsuits almost every year since the iPod introduction. I did take advantage when they had $30 battery replacement for iPhones, but guess what - that's gone back up to "overpriced" as of last year. At least they support iOS devices with 5 years of software updates. Google has always been worse, and some 3rd party (HTC for example) ship new Android phones (at least their cheaper non-flagship models) with outdated software, and never release a patch.

Reflections on Trusting Trust - Computerphile

I remember reading that paper in the early 00s and loving it. The bombshell for me was that at about 4:47 in the video he says he thinks Ken actually did do what I assumed the paper was joking about, which I'll admit sent a little shiver down my spine.

The only limit would have been Ken's forward thinking on how complex the self-updating aspect would be. Once it passes a certain threshold , iirc, it's essentially unstoppable. Below a certain threshold it would probably already have been found.

Uber driver speaks out after passenger mask confrontation

newtboy says...

One arrested for assault with a caustic chemical, assault and battery, and violation of the health and safety code, one expected to turn herself in on similar charges.... sounds like maybe no charges for the girl in the middle.

Update: second girl arrested for violating covid mandates, battery on a transit employee, conspiracy to commit a crime and the big one, first degree robbery! That charge alone could be 9 years upstate because robbing a taxi/uber/lyft/bus driver is a special circumstance in California that adds 3 years.

How to get a contempt of court charge as a lawyer

TheFreak says...

https://blog.simplejustice.us/2021/01/19/shameka-oneils-hang-up/

From the linked article:

Later in the day, O’Neil joined Kaelin’s virtual courtroom again to ask the judge for clarification about the contempt order.

“Mark my words: If you take adverse action against me, you better be sure about it, because you made some mistakes here today,” O’Neil told Kaelin. “I will attempt to hold you civilly or however responsible that I can, and that’s my word.”

When reached for comment, the attorney responded:

“As for that fine — straight cash homie, bottomline don’t disrespect me and try to humiliate me in front of my client and other professionals then think I’m going to sit there and take it whether you got on a robe or not I’m a person just like her I’m not her child nor do I work for her get respect and I give respect. Period.”

Update:

Before becoming a defense lawyer, it appears that O’Neil was a prosecutor in Jefferson County, Kentucky, where she encountered problems as well.

Take, for instance, Jefferson County prosecutor Shameka O’Neil, who last year resigned after falsely assuring a judge that no recording of a 911 call existed to be turned over to defense counsel in a stolen property case. She had spoken personally to the Louisville Metro police, she told the court, to confirm the lack of a recording. The problem being that, in fact, she had not spoken to the police, and there was a 911 call. Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Barry Willett dismissed the case, citing O’Neil’s “outrageous conduct.”
