Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

lucky760 says...

Hooray! We reached and exceeded -16 votes!

First of all I'd like to thank Jesus for making this possible. (That's the Mexican guy who linked me to the trailer.)

But more importantly thanks to all of you for being as disappointed as I am in Michael Bay for taking the dream of a new, awesome TMNT series and crushing it like a dung beetle.

When I heard they were remaking it, it took me back to that elementary school playground where someone told me they were going to release a TMNT movie with live-action turtles. I was in disbelief, but then I could not wait. It was the most excited I'd ever been for a movie.

The possibility of reliving that excitement for a new TMNT was, as @newtboy put it, raped from my soul when I heard Michael Bay was at the helm. This trailer confirmed my worst fears.

I hope for all voting to cease so this pile of turd can sit on on the sift with exactly -17 votes as a testament to what transpired here.

Kumbaya, everybody.

Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

I kept thinking, wasn't April O'Neil a busty redhead? (and thanks to the internet and not my memory, I was right). That has to be plastic surgery since Megan Fox had almost nothing up top in 'Jennifer's Body'. Isn't this the 3rd time a TMNT movie has been made? I guess I can categorize this inevitable piece of crap with the other disappointments I've seen: 2 horrible Hulk movies and 3 poor Punisher movies. I like to beat a dead horse as much as the next guy but.....

I guess Michael Bay has forgiven Megan Fox. I didn't know she was going to be in this, but at first blush I don't like her as April O'Neil.

(And for the record, I don't like her in general, aesthetically speaking.)

Two words: Vanilla Ice.

How much worse could it be? Well, okay, the first one was alright. It would be cool if they went further back to their roots and they were more like real teenagers instead of a middle-aged focus group's opinion of what adolescents associate with being a teenager. Hint: it's beer, not pizza.

edit: Full disclosure, when I was 12, I waited in line for an hour to get tickets when the first TMNT movie opened.

SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE NINJA TURTLES

SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE NINJA TURTLES

grinter says...

Turtles do have ears, just not external ones, and they can hear.
The 200 year lifespan is absurd any species that the TMNT's might conceivably be derived from.
Only a few turtle species have worm-like portions of their tongues (used to lure prey).
Rats and turtles are vectors of disease. So are humans.
Transmission of bubonic plague from rat to turtle is not going to happen.
It's "salmonella" no "samonella".
Turtle penises don't really look like that, nor will they reach the same animal's mouth (they are impressive though).

There is more incorrect than correct about this video. It's like they googled "turtle fun facts" and decided to call that "scientifically accurate".
These animals are amazing!.. Stop being lazy; you don't need to make stuff up.

Childhood Sale, One Man Selling His Huge Comic Collection

Sagemind says...

I'm a collector as well - right now I still have 5-600 (may be an over-exaggeration) star wars figs still in package and tons more out of package. Everyone who knows me always asks about value, what are they worth? I can't even put a price on them because I don't care - I like'em and I'm not selling. I collect because I like the stuff. Not so I can walk around and say, "my stuff is worth a lot, that's why I collect it".

I have comics & trading cards. I have the full complete set of the Dark Crystal trading cards - I don't care what they are worth - I like em! Star Wars, Marvel, Boris, Olivia, fantasy, baseball trading cards 1000s of them...

On that same note, stuff I have sold.
My full complete collections of Star Trek figures (plus DS9 figs) - gone
My full collection of X-men/X-force figures - gone
My full and complete set of Bat Man- animated series figs - gone
Full and complete set of vintage star wars figures (half still in packages)
My full and complete set of Tod McFarland Spawn/Wet Works/YoungBlood action figures (plus rare and limited release figs)
Robocop
TMNT
Robotec
Black Hole
Battlestar Galactica
Buck Rogers (from the TV series)
D&D lead figures
so much more...

I regret ever having to sell the stuff - there was a time with my first child when I had to choose between toys or formula & diapers. I made the right choice but I wish I had found a different way to come up with the cash. Especially now that I have two kids who would have loved to have that stuff.

I've replaced some of the vintage star wars stuff and I have tone of the new star wars figs from the past 15 years. I also have an almost complete set of Aliens vs. predator figs (minus the loader - I sold that off as well)

Caine's Arcade - Best Kids Arcade Story Ever

>> ^Lann:

I did the same thing with a classmate around 2nd grade. We made "computer games" by drawing on cards and taping them to the "screen" and then trading them. Can't figure out why no one else wanted in on that action. What's so great about kick ball anyway?>> ^ant:
>> ^TheSluiceGate:
I used to make little "pinball" machines at his age, with box-tops, elastics, pencils and marbles. But this kid is an imagination god!

When I was in fourth grade, I made a computer out of cardboard. It was based on my real Apple //c.

I used to sew black ninja-suits for my TMNT figures.

I'd like to hear more about what the TMNT creators are saying about this move.
The must have some input and it is their franchise - or did they sell of the rights long ago for large sums of money?

Sorry, but the pacing is awful, the action sub standard, and there's nothing really to it. A very average little film indeed.

Yeah that's what a fan made film looks like. I'd love them to bring back TMNT live action though. I still watch the original TMNT movie and it was gritty and dark and just really well made for it's time, I love it.
