How to Pour the Perfect Guinness from a Can
I usually pour this way (fully invert the can and just let it flow), but minus leaving the can in the glass. With a standard pint glass you can safely up-end it and pour until empty. No need to clean the can since it's never submersed.
I'm interested to try it this way now and see if there's any difference. For science.
James Cameron Releases His First Ever Mariana Trench Footage
>> ^critical_d:
Odd how the scientific community seems to have more enthusiasm for exploring the oceans of Titan than our own. I read somewhere that the technological aspects of a dive like Cameron performed are as complex as a moon landing. I guess the thinking was that if something went wrong seven miles below then you are just as screwed as if you were in the Frau Mora Highlands. If the ultimate goal is to setup a colony on Mars or our own Moon, then we should practice in our own backyard first.
Not to mention his submersible has to hold back 1100 atmospheres of force, and out in orbit, the space station only has to hold in 1 atmosphere of force.
The Orvillecopter Quadrotor Made Out Of Dead Cat Test Flight

Next to-do. Rocket powered dead cat. Then.. the submersible dead cat.
Submersible dead cats you say. So that's what that guy was doing on the bridge with his sack full of kittens...

Ricky Gervais on Noah
Well the only way there could be a world-wide flood is if the ice caps melted. The earth is a closed loop and I'm pretty sure if ALL of the water in the atmosphere were to fall upon the ground, it wouldn't be able to cover the land (especially submersing the highest mountain).
Vampire squid turns itself "inside out"
Very nice imaging system that have on that submersible. Most deep sea footage I see is terrible.
CNN: Creative Drug Smuggling
Wow, those semi-submersibles are cool! (Google Images). One was titled the "Snortilus".
Palm Pre working in a beer
I hear the iPhone has an app for beer submersion mode.

Thanks, My art has somewhat diminished since I had kids.
It's hard to set large blocks of time aside for painting when you have other commitments though now that they are getting older, I need to get back to it. Not painting, feels like a core of my being is on hold. I'll truly never be happy until I am submersed in my art again.
And then another side of me says, I'd have a lot more time for painting if I'd just turn the computer off.

your paintings are very beautiful
Yacht launch FAIL
Ok. Let's post this as a Submersible Yacht, complete with indoor pool on craigslist.
How To Poach An Egg Using A Tuna Can
I always though poaching an egg was using steam. Not submersing it in water. Whatever works I guess to make that slimy mess.
A tram ride through Barcelona in 1908
its like sending a camera on a submersible explorer back in time, instead of the depths of the ocean...

Babies Taught to Save Themselves from Drowning
Humans, as with most mammals, are able to swim instinctively at a very young age. They're covered with fat, so they float easily, and they also instinctively hold their breath when submersed. It's not until you become older that you develop a fear of the water and begin to over think what would be an otherwise natural process.
I've long wished my parents had tossed me into a pool as a baby. I can barely swim; with great effort I can keep myself afloat for a few minutes; and it took me years to accomplish just that. Had I "learned" to swim before I learned to be afraid, maybe I'd be a great swimmer now.
