Trump vs Talking Heads

Russians doing sketchy sh*t

Payback says...

If this is from Russia, I think they're tourists. Russians don't use parachutes. They'd climb down that vertical cable using their balls.

Also, I think this cable set up is for catching low-flying aircraft trying to sneak, nap-of-earth, during the cold war. Either that or it's the World's most epic rope swing.

ORVILLE S1E3: The Crew Preps For A Wild Wild West Showdown

Drachen_Jager says...

You keep posting these, Ant.

I don't get the appeal. It's not funny enough to be a parody, but it's not unique enough to stand as an homage or a furthering of the Star Trek idea. The Orville is just hack writing, cutting as close to the copyright law as they can sneak without getting sued (they hope).

I Tried Medical Marijuana For My Chronic Pain

Edgeman2112 says...

But.. it didn't help? It did help? This video was confusing as hell.

The roll-on seemed to help her but that sounded like the equivalent of a menthol rub.

The charlotte's web tincture looked like it helped, but it has 0.03% THC. She smoked the flowers which only helped with headaches/migraines, but that has a higher concentration of THC wouldn't it? The entire video makes it seem like "hey great this is what we need" but at the end she sneaks in that "this is not the solution" and follows it up with a bright happy smile. Cmon now.

So, regarding your reply:

Sorry, but STOP. People die because of this stupid fucking philosophy. People also make millions off desperate folks like this lady in the video because of that mindset. 120$ for a bottle of sugary mint chocolate chip flavored water and 0.03% THC? Isn't that just diluted to no effectiveness like homeopathic tinctures? We can't use the homeopathic approach for medicine where, "oh if it doesn't work and there are no side effects than all is fine."

No, it is dangerous to think that way because many people focus ONLY on non-medical treatments. They either continue suffering or die like my dad.

Asmo said:

I doubt there are many people in the chan that wouldn't be accepting of MJ for medicine specifically, or hell, MJ for recreational use generally. But if you have anxiety about trying it out, particularly for care of a chronic treatment, consider this...

You'll test this for a few weeks of your life, and it may have shitty side effects or just not work. However, you might be living with pain for the rest of your life. Worth a shot? You bet your fucking ass!

Fox Reporter Does An Exit Stage Left

AeroMechanical says...

Director: "Quick sound guys, whats-your-face, sneak over to sit at the bar like you're a customer and then just nod and agree with whatever the talking head says. Maybe adlib a little bit about a Mexican raping your job or something."

Because the window will stop him...

Khufu says...

I had a friend who died doing this very thing. She was taking a photo of something and didn't notice the lion sneaking up behind the car... these cats can move if they want to. Much faster than most humans would anticipate, it's no joke!

Doctor Forcibly Removed From United Flight For Overbooking

bobknight33 says...

The guy was removed once and then sneaked back on.
The Airlines were right in doing what they did.

dubious said:

Passengers have many legal rights. For instance they can't be left on the tarmac for over 3 hours. It's not a simple situation like "flying is a privilege". If there is no law that this is violating Congress should clearly pass more protections for airline passengers ASAP.

Furthermore, the "I was just following orders" type defense is pretty poor given certain historical contexts of its use ... people need to use their own judgment of a situation in the moment. The passengers refusal to move should not have gotten to the point of force, it should have gone up the chain, where I would hope a different course of action would have been decided. I know it's difficult in the moment, but clear thinking heads would have realized that.

Antonin Scalia - On American Exceptionalism

MilkmanDan says...

He makes a very persuasive argument.

But then, I think about how there are lots of counterexamples to the "legislation that gets out will be good legislation" bit. Patriot Act. DMCA. Citizens United. Homeland Security and Aviation and Transportation Security Acts.

I dunno. If there is a weakness in the system, perhaps it is that while the separation of powers theoretically makes it hard to get garbage in, it sure as hell also makes it nigh-on-impossible to get it out when any sneaks through.
