Snooker Trick For The Ages

Is This What Quantum Mechanics Looks Like? - Veritasium

ChaosEngine says...

So you would prefer a totally deterministic universe?

If there's no true randomness in the universe, then EVERYTHING is literally pre-ordained. The universe is just a massive rube goldberg machine that we all unwittingly play our part in. Everything, from the formation of galaxies to what you decided to have for breakfast, is simply a result of an absurdly complicated machine playing out its inevitable ending.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just that this is the implication of such a universe, unless you want to include some supernatural force (god, souls, etc.)

I hate quantum mechanics and the absurd implications that extrapolate from it. I always believed that one day we would look back and laugh at how wrong it was. Turns out a more reasonable competing theory has been there all along. Why was I not taught this in school.

I get that it's just another theory and that quantum mechanics can't be judged based on intuition that comes from our interaction with the macro world. Still...fuck quantum mechanics.

I'm not convinced it was all in one take due to the multiple shots....yet, its still one of the best Rube Golfbergs I've ever seen. I say that because of the 'simple creativity', and the fact that you could easily see everything that was going on. So even though, it was multiple shots, I think that was the best way to shoot it. 10/10.

Biisuke Ball's Big Adventure

SDGundamX says...

NHK Education channel runs clips like this every morning. The segment is called "Pitagoro Switch" (it's written on the flag on the house) and always features some Rube Goldberg-esque machine. This is the first one I've ever seen that actually had a story attached to it. The song is great too, as the singer describes everything that is happening in terms of the story (i.e. "Now the enemy is chasing them but they manage to get away...").

Now, I wouldn't normally do this, but I fear there are many people who will click on a video entitled "Biisuke Ball's Big Adventure".

And those people will miss out, and their lives will be worse.

so.... *promote epic ball adventure / song / rube goldberg machine!

This thing is practically a Rube Goldberg machine.

A simple tilted chute with a slot that identifies which way the batteries that slide down it are pointing, separating them into forms that deposit them on a conveyor, would have done the trick without all that dancing.

(Yes, I know, I destroy the magic in souls frequently. Utility over aesthetics ho!)
