Have you ever studied the French Revolution? Ron Paul's policies didn't go so well for Turgot, and haven't for anyone else who has tried them since.
I guess since neither of us are U.S. based we can always sit back and watch the spectacle from afar, eating popcorn, no matter what they try

When America picked Rome as its role model, it was destined to die the same way.
It had potential, but corruption is a constant threat and no where near enough is being done to battle it.
I am truly shocked how divided your country has become, and how much of a threat and actually enemy to the worlds freedom after 9/11.
You havent learned a bit. Still waging wars everywhere, support totalitarian regimes (and even install them) even if its just behind the curtains. You ask yourself why "terrorists" are attacking you? You should ask yourself instead why so few are attacking you.
Believe me, I really loved the US for the most of my life. I always wanted to live there. I loved having American soldiers stationed in my country. But not anymore. A few years after 9/11 I got my ignorance armor removed by force and realized youre just as bad as the other hypocrite countries that call themselves civilized, democratic and free. But since you have so much power and exploit it all the time, youre actually worse.
I really wish you would return to your former values and actually uphold them. But looking at how corrupt your country has become, my hopes are extremely low. Just by looking at how you let the perfect opportunity pass by not voting Ron Paul - again, hurts me so much. Seeing people here and elsewhere spewing out propaganda that was indoctrinated into them reminds me of myself a few years ago. I can only feel disgust when thinking about that. In an age of information theres still so much misinformation and bias... Its sad. No wonder corruption is blooming like never before.
And yes, I am pretty sure some indoctrinated individuals will jump at me now for my last 2 sentences and mentioning Ron Paul. Save your breath, I have tried to talk to people like you for years and I was one of you. You will only learn the hard way - just like me.

Looks like you have studied the french revolution, but not what Ron Paul actually wants to do, or rather will be able to do.

And yes I guess its easy to sit back and eat popcorn for people like you.

What makes America the greatest country in the world?

the truth about ayn rand

spoco2 says...

After watching some of a documentary on Ayn Rand (In her own words) I came away being baffled how people can so idolise this woman. Her selfish, self interested, self aggrandising nature, and her creation of a philosophy to justify her selfishness did nothing but make me dislike her and everything she stood for.

And it's easy to see how she ended up as she did through the upbringing she did. I just don't get how rational people can find her to be a great role model... unless they too are just looking for an excuse to be a selfish prick.

This little short did a crap job of demonstrating the horrendous nature of her views. All it does is say 'Look right wingers love her'... and that's it.

Shit Republicans Say About Black People

bareboards2 says...

I read this yesterday. I had a bad feeling and couldn't identify it at first.

It's the same thing that women faced (less so these days) -- they had to be much better, much smarter, much more of everything in order to get promotions/jobs.

Women and black Americans have always had a presence in higher echelons. There have been stellar examples in public life for hundreds of years.

Key word in that last sentence is "stellar." YOU HAVE TO BE head and shoulders better and tougher and wily and bull-headed and confident and impassioned to break through and rise above the mass of ordinary white men.

One amazing black man as president has not magically changed the world. It is a step.

He also is a role model -- and on that note, I agree with your friend. A path has been blazed. Now it needs to be trodden on again and again until the path is clear for the ordinary in addition to the extraordinary.

When Obama was elected a black friend of mine said; "We got a black president, maybe it's time to stop using our color as a reason for not getting better jobs."

Disclaimer: I like pr0n as much as the next dude and think hooking should be legal.
However, I hate the fascist dehumanizing element which seems to have become the standard, and hate even more the mainstreaming and glamorization of the pr0n "lifestyle" as legitimate theater.
Pr0n has its place, but if it's such a life-affirming industry then the "stars" wouldn't be drugging and drinking--and occasionally diseasing--themselves to death.
Pr0n is a useful poison; far less useful than other poisons. As for the rest of these clever comments, open mic night is on Thursday(s).

The problem is "right and wrong" doesn't return after the camera stops, either.

You got an example of how Belladonna's wronged the world?

I actually agree with your general point, that porn actors are increasing being held up as some sort of role models for a glamorous, exciting life for people who want to get a kick out of breaking a fading taboo. However, pointing to porn is a generalisation, plenty of other entertainers are just as bad and there are those in porn who are fine, and the question was about Belladonna specifically, whose life we know nothing about (if I may presume!). Porn actors are probably statistically among the worst in terms of drug abuse and mental health, but I don't think individuals should tarred with this brush.

I am guessing the health/drugs stat, I think that's a fair assumption. Also, I assume you originally meant "right and wrong doesn't return" to be what's right and wrong for her (e.g. potential drug abuse), rather than how she'd wronged the world.

C-note says...

If two black men jumped the counter and chased a white girl into the corner of the cooking area and she defended herself with deadly force she would be praised and made a hero. She would get a book deal, have a movie about her story and become the new role model for all women to look up to. Free this man. Get him back on the job. And for criss sake give him a raise.
