Rhinos and Goats

Poop Missile

I don't like seeing that either, but if you watch to the end they are actually in part of a larger area.

I'm hyper sensitive to that kind of stuff ever since i went to Beijing zoo. There was a really large enclosure, but it was really old, crumbling and in disrepair, cracks and holes in the floor here and there, all concrete, with one black bear inside pacing up and down by the only perspex window that was about 8 feet in length.

All the Chinese animals were in a special bit of the zoo - pandas and rhinos and all that, state of the art stuff. The 'rest of the world' animals were in the other bit that was old and poorly maintained. An American black bear was worthless to them I suppose.

Now even when i see animals in big areas, all i can see is that poor fucking thing almost dancing left and right for hours by the window to the outside. Really depressed myself writing this.

I left immediately and complained, but no one gave a shit or even understood.

Sen Warren Endorses Clinton, explains why

bareboards2 says...

This is true. Because the world isn't perfect, people aren't perfect, and the President is President of the entire country, not just a small sliver who hold Purity Tests and Only Want Their Way or they bawl "sell out."

That covers both Bernie Bros and Tea Partiers who screech "RHINO, RHINO."

I do wish they could both catch a clue that there are diverse people in this country who hold diverse views and the world isn't perfect.

And people aren't perfect.

They all disappoint you in the end don't they, although I imagine Sanders would have probably done the same even if he became President.

Just to preface this, i got this info from a number of Beijing university physics students, in Beijing.

Many things, in Chinese, are a bunch of descriptions. For example i wanted to find a little statue of a rhino, and my chinese friend taught me to ask shopkeepers for a "xi niu", with a certain inflection. This is when he told me that your inflection can change the meaning of a Chinese word as can the words that follow and precede it. Whenever he asked shopkeepers - and subsequently whenever i asked them - for a xi niu, they always thought i wanted a bull, because i was asking for, literally translated, a "horny cow" as Gary put it. We had to make a mime of a central horn before they understood.... and told me no (different story, hunting a rhino statue across china and finding nothing).

When they gave me a Chinese name, it was some words from a well known and overly flattering Chinese proverb. This makes me think that the same could be true of "coffin man" which could easily come from a provincial saying, or a description the meaning of which escapes these two. I know that my friend from Xi'an struggled to understand phrases and words when he went to uni in Beijing, and his friends used to rib him about being so different. Massive country, the people are diverse. I don't think these guys are expert linguists, and it could just be regional differences.

Rhino Chases Motorcycle Down The Street

Until Far Cry 4 came along I had not considered sudden anal rape by a rhino to be a form of death I would encounter in a video game.
Also, it looks like those folks in Pamplona are going to have to step up their game now.

Why Violent Video Games Don't Cause Violence | Today's Topic

JustSaying says...

I love the 2004 Punisher game. I love it.
You can "interrogate" people in it, meaning you outright torture them for information or gratuitous, explicit death scenes. You can shove people into woodchippers, drill holes in their skull with a powerdrill, chromeplating heads or smash their pelvis with a prison cell door to pieces. Additionally there are four basic "interrogations" that you can do anywhere from banging peoples head open on the floor to threatening them with a gun (that goes off a lot). And that goes on top off the usuall ultraviolence you find in such first and third person shooters.
However, the game mechanics reward you for not killing people during interrogations and using them as well as the human shields tactically. I started playing for points, not mayhem. Which is really hard to do if you hide in a coffin with an M60 during a mob burial. It's nice to see the Punisher impaling people on actual Rhinos or crushing them in giant gears in Tony Starks living room but I'm playing to get the gold medal on that level, I wanna take the flamethrower to the zoo.
The game mechanics were really great and rewarded strategy and restraint with unlockable stuff. You actually became less violent in exchange for concept art and additional gear. That game is awesome.
The only thing that ever made me want to be violent was the way certain people behaved towards me or others. Games just feed my morbid sense of entertainment.

But it's never more than a bonus. I do enjoy it for the sheer brutality of it (and that sound - like a popping balloon), but it's never the focus of the game for me. In fact, most of the time, despite the fact that the game is based on killing, I am mostly concerned with the basic mechanics of the game, and the constant competition I am in with myself.
