Do not mess with a parent - here is why

lucky760 says...

I'm obviously making a big leap in my assumptions, but they're based on the limited hard evidence presented to the court. I am assuming Lardass was not just "driving poorly," but using intentionally dangerous aggressive maneuvers and smiling while he did so.

It is not likely that a father would go so ballistic and try to reprimand someone over their simply not driving very well. If Fatfuck was putting people in danger, I would not consider it unacceptable to approach and question his driving behavior.

I've been on the receiving end many times of douchecocks intentionally swerving into me, slamming on brakes in front of me, etc., and it is definitely something that warrants some kind of response.

If, however, the douchecunt really was simply driving poorly (e.g., failed to signal a lane change, took a couple of seconds to go when the light turned green, wasn't wearing his seatbelt, etc.), then yes, the father is completely at fault and out of his mind.

But based on my Sherlock Holmes-like skills of deduction, my guess is Comicbookstoreguyfromthesimpsons was a huge prick and intentional instigator. With a smile.

You're making the assumption that angry dad has a point to make, and isn't just being angry dad, and that Kevin Smith doesn't have a child in the back seat himself.
Dude driving like an asshole? Maybe. We didn't see that happen, and I'm hesitant to take the word of a raving violent asshole.
Dad's driving like an asshole by abandoning his car and child in traffic to scream, then assault someone else, definitely a giant throbbing asshole.
When someone jumps out of their car in traffic and approaches yours, filming them is totally appropriate, and being slightly amused is not abnormal. When someone assaults you by smashing your window into your face, having them arrested and their child removed by CPS is appropriate.

To me this incident is 100% angry dad being the dangerous criminal here. Even if the filmer was driving poorly, the reaction was ridiculously criminal and ACTUAL child abuse (committing a violent crime while driving/abandoning your child is certainly abusive).
Maybe I better get my pipe hitting, blow torch n' pliers using brothers to snatch and teach him a lesson? ;-)

City Lights To Dark Skies - International Dark Sky Week 2014

Took my nephew to Cherry Springs in Pennsylvania - darkest spot in PA. He didn't even know you could see the milky way and was out of his mind. I was too really.

Jon Stewart Skewers Toronto Mayor, Again

Krupo says...

1. We'd like to know that the person in charge of our city and our safety, in an emergency, will not be cracked out of his mind.

2. He repeatedly lied about the existence of the video. Now he's admitted and apologized simply because the truth came out. He attacked, villified and slandered anyone who called him out for all this.

3. Today's video - insane. If it's not on the sift it will be shortly.

100% not sarcasm. A politician's personal life is none of your business. When a reporter asks a question that is none of their business they deserve to get a lie or Clinton-esque evasion (the latter is what happened in this case). He said he does not use it and is not an addict, both statements being consistent with having tried it in the past. One puff does not make him a crackhead. The scientific literature on this issue demonstrates that cocaine is about as addictive as tobacco. Even if the unverified accusations were true, that wouldn't be automatic grounds for resignation.

Well from looking at his motion, he was probably drunk, stoned or something-else-out-of-his mind. Sure looks like the first time he fired a gun, limp wrist and all.

Worst Product Placement in TV

curiousity says...

I enjoy this show. Of course I'm not trying to compare it to other shows (yes, the UK version is fantastic... but let's include reality-tinted glasses when it comes to UK vs US shows.) I think the part that I enjoy the most is the idea, the setting. After losing the Woman, Sherlock Holmes loses control, hits bottom, forced out of his mind-numbing distractions of choice with rehab, and eventually moves to another country because he can't bare to be in the same country as his memories. Perhaps I see it as a man trying to recover from the soul-crushing experience of the only woman that he found worthy to love... and found so unexpectedly... perhaps I'm just a romantic... sigh.

I do not dismiss or hide from the show's faults, but all you gentlemen and gentlewoman can stay on your high horse while I shall enjoy both of the Sherlock stories, each as their own style.

Starting A Diesel Engine For The First Time In 30 Years.....

Sniper007 says...

I wouldn't say he's a total liar. It is true it did not suck it in, but it is also true that the boy was terrified out of his mind. He probably honestly believed it got sucked in when he made that statement. Fear can do strange things to your memory. Also, it wasn't a rag. It was some kind of soft metal or plastic. You can see them tap it on the vehicle at 0:37. It looked like they knew full well that what happened was a possibility, and they were "prepared" for it. They just made poor choices for what (and who) should block the intake.

Shepppard said:

Well, it's a good thing at least one of them knew what the hell to do.

And after re-watching, you can see the guy saying "it sucked it out of my hand, bout to suck my hand in, too" is a total liar. He tried to plug it twice, the second time he just let go and his rag fell on the floor. -_-

Shroomer Gets Arrested

bcglorf says...

>> ^Peroxide:

Yeah totally geo, this kid just wants to go home, take a shit, and get a job. Why are shrooms illegal?

Agreed, this kid clearly isn't a threat or problem to anyone but himself. The fact he's out of his mind on drugs clearly has absolutely no impact what so ever on his behaviour or the threat he poses to those around him. It's not like he's bothering anyone by trespassing on people's lawns while screaming at the top of his lungs. He's not interfering with anyone else's rights in anyway what so ever.

Dave Chappelle on Man Rape.

The man is a stand-up comedic genius.
And I don't throw that term around loosely.
Off the top of my head --> Bill Hicks, Andy Kaufman, Mitch Hedberg, Stephen Wright, Emo Phillips, and Dave Chappelle.

I don't know if I would throw Hedberg in with those guys. He was bombed out of his mind 99.999% of the time. I was at the State Theatre and watched that dude perform. A cup of vodka in one hand, a cup of orange juice in the other, his parents were in the audience and he kept forgetting his lines Couldn't come back on stage after someone heckled him. Funny guy but not a genius.

Mormonism has a long history of bigotry, misogyny and hatred.

dystopianfuturetoday says...

I've known plenty of good Mormons and Ex-Mormons, and I'm not trying to insult them with this. I'm just trying to urge them to ask some tough questions of their faith, and to decide whether or not they really want to be personally associated with a faith that has such a hard time getting along with others.

Beyond that, I'd also hope they eventually question all the laughably absurd Joseph Smith and the golden tablet backstory. When the foundation of an entire religion falls upon the words of one person, you have to be open to the possibility that that person was either out of his mind or full of shit. Just sayin'....

If Mormons weren't so eager to put the ugly side of their faith on display via national television, I probably wouldn't feel the need to criticize.

What "front lines" are Alaska and Russia involved in exactly? Fox reporting at it's best!

Awkward German TV Moment - Uncomfortable Silence

Translation (and yes, the play of words is as lame in German as it is in English):
Morgenhans: Well, the 2 most beautiful points, which are the 2 points of my beautiful Czech Susanka, will stay with me tonight. Right? That's for ...SMACK...
Susanka: Is he out of his mind? Jerk!
Morninghans: Just a joke...
Susanka: Funny, only nobody is laughing. Let's do the points...zero points for Big FM Morgenhans....

Not totally accurate I guess.
