what a legend. Most national anthem recitals are fairly monotonous anyway!

American sports inundates you with god (athletes) and country (the league) more then anything. I always change the channel when they do the national anthem with a bunch of military servicemen and a US flag the size of the entire field and of course a military fly over. As if sports outside of Olympics has anything to do with Nationalism or love of country.

I know the US national anthem, and I'm pretty sure a lot of my friends do too. You hear it a lot in US movies, tv, etc, so it's just one of those cultural osmosis things.

Personally, I think this is great. I hate the whole "singer with a microphone" for national anthems at sporting events. The crowd should be singing the anthem.

WTF was that? Who was the jackass that started playing music in the middle of Obama's toast, and why did no one else stop it? I would have stopped and asked them to shut that racket off...fuckers. If they want to refuse, revamp the toast to "Well then, Fuck the queen, that disrespectful bitch".
The next time their royalty is here making a speech or toast, we need to interrupt it in the middle with our national anthem and just crank it up if they keep talking, with the crowd joining in!
