Crazy Rodent Running In Circles - (.........wait for it)

Serious Motorcycle Fail

ChaosEngine says...

Aww, I didn't realise.

I don't own a motorbike, but I do have a chainsaw and a mountain bike which could be combined into some kind of powered two wheeled transport. Can I still say mean things on the web?

He was actually contemplating whether his mid-life crisis should have manifested in a stereotypical large road bike or an equally stereotypical yacht.

He subsequently discovered the answer was 'neither'.

Otherwise, he wasn't going too fast, he was riding on the wrong side of the barriers. I also own a motorbike, which apparently gives me all kinds of licence to say unkind things about strangers on the internet.

Ok, GoPro makes a good commercial - Hero3

This is an excellent series. I saw it recently, after watching a similar doco last year,'On the Trail of Genghis Khan', by an Australian who rode from Mongolia to Hungary on a horse. Both fascinating, yet very different. The motorbike trek took 3 months, the horse trek took three years. Ewan and his friend Charlie had huge amounts of expensive equipment and a support crew. Tim had three horses, a tent, a dog and a satelite phone. Each had their own unique set of problems. All of them were pushed to new limits. Excellent stuff.

What I like about the trail of Genghis Khan comparison is the fact that Horses and Motorcycles are very much the same. Motorcycle is just a modern version of a horse, with some of the same trappings such as leather and a cowboy loner outsider sort of image attached to it.

he's also a skilled pilot and flies around in his own twin-engine turboprop>> ^oritteropo:

I met him once in the 80s, when he was visiting my neighbour. He demonstrated how to do a wheelie on my farm motorbike... but I never managed it. I suspect that it was easier for someone heavier than I was.
I think they persuaded him to get out his trumpet, too.

saw him play live twice and I booked him in 2007 to play in our concert hall ... great musician, great man

What do you do for work ? (Talks Talk Post)

kymbos says...

You people work and sleep some crazy hours!

@lucky760 how can you work till 3am then get up at 5:45am? I would not be able to cope with that.

I get up around 6am when my daughter wakes up and starts yelling for attention, I hang out with her till her mum gets up with our baby, I ride my motorbike the 15 minutes to work between 8 and 9am where I work as a consultant economist in environmental and natural resource management stuff. I leave work before 6 to get home to the family, put the kids to bed, hang out with my wife, go to bed usually before 10 because the baby could get up anywhere between once and three times a night.
