Re-Entry | A Short Film about Life and Death

BSR says...

Grief has a way of exposing the truth. You cannot experience grief without love.

All alone or in twos
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall
Some hand in hand
And some gather together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall -Pink Floyd

Love is all you need -Beatles

"You know you got to go through hell before you get to heaven" -Steve Miller Band

If you lose someone you love, remember where you put them. Through your senses , your eyes, your ears, nose, mouth and touch, you sent all that information to your heart. That is where to look for the one you love. This is where they are and you put them there. Some know exactly how to get into your heart because you let them in.

"And when you stop and think about it
You won't believe it's true.
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you." -Moody Blues

Kitty says "You Shall Not PASS!"

shagen454 says...

I agree... when I was growing up I had an indoor cat and it was a moody biting little bitch. But, it was confined. As an adult I have had about 5 cats outdoor cats that could go outside and easily come inside when they wanted... all of these cats were so awesome, so healthy and so happy. One of them hasn't hissed once in it's whole entire life, so chill. When I see this I can only imagine that cat is saying "LET ME OUTSIDE YOU FUCKING MORON!!!!!".

Videos of cats like this make me cringe. I always assume hissing cats like this one have issues and I assume they have been brought on by shitty humans. Also it doesn't help when the cat in question is obese. Makes me quickly jump to shitty pet owners. I realize there is no way of knowing if this cats owner are good pet owners or not but my mind goes straight to they aren't.

Russell Brand debates Nigel Farage on immigration

"The high-income tax increase sapped 0.25 percentage points from GDP in 2013, estimates Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics Inc. in West Chester, Pennsylvania."

"Politicians who support tax increases operate under a misconception that there is little real effect, Maloney said.

“A higher tax rate reduces our ability to recapitalize and reduces our ability to expand,” he said. “You keep your forklifts a little longer, you do whatever you can to stretch the dollars you’re left with.”"

"According to Zandi’s estimates, the payroll tax cut subtracted 0.6 percentage points from U.S. economic growth, more than twice the effect of the high-income tax cuts."

“Clearly, taxes affect behavior; they affect some behaviors more than others. What has not been established is that the level of taxes has a clear and important impact on economic growth. And one reason is that this is not a well-posed question. How government activity affects prosperity depends not only on the level of taxes, but also on what the money is used for.”

"Thus, the proper answer to a question as broad as whether tax increases are “positive” or “negative” for growth is: “It depends.”"

But it's perfect if you just want to be a dark moody goth. I don't think the misunderstood and shunned part is intentional on her side.

As an aside...I love the way their house looks once it's painted! Maybe my next color scheme.

I see your point about the delivery of these lefty messages. Almost without fail, they pull at the heartstrings with moody scores and images of the helplessness of the poor, the beauty of pristine nature and the ugly rot that underlies our way of life. I certainly don't have the ability to produce anything approaching the quality of this video, flawed as it is as a tool to convert non-believers.

I see this as the real challenge moving forward: the creation of a universal message that speaks to people who are unaware or in denial about our impending collapse. Somehow, one of us with the charisma of a Lincoln or a Mandella, has to present that universal message. Present it, and for God's sake find a way to not make it sound like the whining of a "bleeding-heart liberal."

As with any year musically a lot of crap and some gold. Fortunately each of us gets to decide which is which for ourselves. Personally I have been and always shall be a fan of the Moody Blues. I have fond memories of Saturday nights in 1973 running a floor polisher across the cafeteria at Sears while singing "Question" at the top of my lungs. Yes ... I am that old.

I first started with the light stuff — you know — Barney, Sesame Street, maybe some Elephant Show. Then some lady I knew, we'll call her "mom" to protect her identity, introduced me to some shit that blew my mind. At first she pushed the less harsh brand of audio like Mr. Mister but that quickly elevated — as it does — when she introduced me to dealers of the brash, sometimes heady, audio like Billy Idol or Pat Benatar. By then, I was in deep man. I still hung around "mom", but soon started mixing in with the likes of another crowd. Leader of that group we'll call "grandma". She wasn't as gentle as "mom" was when getting me hooked on her personal audio dealers. Dealers like "the Moody Blues," "the Rolling Stones," and finally "Pink Floyd." At that point...it was game over.

I am listening to moody, atmospheric soundtracks;

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Drive
Solaris (from the Clooney version)

Then I put some First Aid Kit on to change things up.

I mostly listen via my PC and I do not have an ipod.

That is my audio story.

SKYFALL - Official Teaser Trailer

kymbos says...

Look, Casino Royale showed up twenty years of Bond films to be the mindless derivative drivel that they were.

The film reintroduced the darkness that was at the heart of Bond that hasn't been seen, arguably, since the death of Bond's just-married wife at the end of the highly underrated "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (which coincidentally had the best soundtrack of all Bond films). That was in 1969.

Some would contend that Timothy Dalton captured the true essence of Bond's dark moodiness in his too-short stint as Bond in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill - but he had the advantage of actually being able to act, a skill no one could accuse Pierce Brosnan of bringing to the franchise.

I believe that the Bourne films effectively modernised Bond and the franchise was forced to follow, after years of meandering aimlessly with Brosnan whose films retained a misplaced focus on gadgets and 'witty' lines. There is a place for these, but they superseded plot, character and genuine style. Product placement became too much of a cash cow as well (although I hear an agreement has been made to replace Bond's signature martini with Heineken in Skyfall).

Casino Royale returned Bond to his rightful place. Bourne is great, but he's no Bond. Compared to CR, Quantum of Solace was indeed inferior. But Yogi is right - it was way better than every Brosnan Bond film, which were total disappointments to genuine fans.

So there.
