Riding "The Convincer" - Buckle Up!

One happy husky!

Payback says...

Friends of mine have a purebred Border Collie (Charlie) and a Husky/Shepard mix (Ava). Charlie runs like the wind, barely making a whisper. Total stealth mode. Ava is faster, but she doesn't run so much as grab onto the ground and pull the planet around under her. It's really interesting to see the different styles. Charlie is a figure skater, Ava is a tractor pull.

Just for you darling folks we've just added the ability to turn multi-column mode off (while logged in). At the top-right of the listing you'll see a little single-column or dual-column icon. Just click that to toggle betwixt the two modes.

Exercise is NOT the Key to Weight Loss

worthwords says...

It's important because some people are very illogical when it comes to diets many overweight people have tried punishing diet and exercise and evolve two modes of being that of 'dieting and exercise' or fall off the wagon and 'eat anything and no exercise' which endlessly cycle for decades. The better approach would be to have constant manageable exercise regardless of food intake to reduce cardiovascular risk and alongside that generally healthy eating which can tolerate the occasional teat or indulgence.

The idea that exercise solely exists to burn off dietary excess can only lead to unhealthy ideas.

Most Insane Footage Yet From The China Explosion

I'm not going to pass judgement on them. It's not my place. I have no idea of what they might have been doing beforehand... perhaps they were having a group orgy on MDMA and then WHAM! Fireworks, everywhere. Oh good God I'm going to cum!

I'd say if it had been me standing there (sober) - I would have immediately shut my mouth and forgot about my phone and videoing the event. Instead going into survival mode since I would have believed that my life was severely in danger by this event unfolding and would have tried to get out of there as fast as possible- to a basement or somewhere else solid. But, that is only my theory and everyone is different, situations are different, the people you are with, the country you are in, dynamics. It's not like this was their fault. I also get a hint of the sobering magnitude beginning to sink into their voices by the end of the video...

Ah, but we do have the option to go back in time per Lucky and have a serious conversation over this and better script the reaction while this unseen event happens the second time around.

Should full promoting privileges be available to all non-probationary members? (User Poll by SDGundamX)

Thank you Gundam.

I would be interested in reading the rationale behind why a number of people voted "no".

And by the way, I was stopped from noting a video was region-blocked earlier tonight as well. There's no damn reason for that at all.

Honestly Sifty's getting close to the point of making me go full non-voting lurker mode.

XCOM 2 - Gameplay Trailer (E3 2015)

Jinx says...

Invisible Inc didn't always include the rewind mechanic and I don't think it was actually a planned feature. Later iterations probably balanced the game more around it, but I still think it is kinda amazing how well it works given it wasn't in the game until relatively late into development.

I'd actually very much like the game to penalise you for not using rewind. Or rather I'd like the game to be balanced with assumption you will use it. I like that rewind creates a nice middle ground between quick save scumming and iron mode. I think it allows for a more challenging game in other respects and that doesn't feel frustrating when a miss click puts your main girl in open ground surrounded by cyberdisks (especially when the UI was pretty bad when it came to different elevations...). It smooths the transition from too easy to too hard.

That said, there are a number of changes from Enemy Unknown that I'd like to have more priority. Borrowing from Invisible Inc again, the ever raising alarm level in that creates a sense of urgency that I never felt in XCOM, even in the bomb missions and with the meld resource. I never lost a soldier because I forced them to take an incredible risk for the sake of the mission, I really only lost people because an unlucky shot dinked them in head across the map when they were in heavy cover. It looks like they are perhaps addressing urgency with the threat of reinforcements, which is cool. The other frustration I had with XCOM:EU/EW is that it always seemed to punish scouting. You'd effectively "wake up" the aliens by finding them which really disincentivised spreading out to cover more ground. It was simply safer to move as ball and let the enemies run into you (with the possible exception of the terror missions). it looks like they might be addressing that by making you the insurgent force with ambush tactics etc.

So yeah. I'm hyped.

I never played the original old school X COM, but I played all of Enemy Unknown on Ironman, and I have mixed feelings about a rewind system.

First, I think ironman really adds to the experience of X COM. There's a genuine sense of loss when one of your best troops dies.

I wouldn't mind an option for a rewind system, by with one caveat.
Invisible Inc. is clearly designed with the rewind system in mind (and it's a great game). But I'd still like to play X COM without the rewind without the game penalising me for it, i.e. the games get easier with it rather than harder without it.

I'm not sure if I'm explaining that very well.

This seems to be normal these days. It's a hybrid trans that can be used in auto mode, or partial manual (there's no clutch). My mom's Legend (2005 model?) has that, as did the firebird I rented about 8 years ago. It was freaky, shifting without using my feet, but even then it worked well. I'm sure they have it working even better these days.

So, the One:1 is an automatic? But it has paddle shifters. Darn confusing hyper-cars!

RSR RAW: Porsche 918 Hot Lap - Spa

Enzoblue says...

The 918 Spyder has a Dual Clutch transmission that's usually used in automatic mode.

I'm guessing the adjustment he was making was brake bias, but who knows. It's a hybrid car so could be a lot of things.

Was also a bad lap from this guy. He missed a few apex's and I've seen porsche's flat out on some parts of this track where he wasn't. You can see his reaction when he's shown his time and he knows it wasn't his best.
