I was assuming from the items and décor that these people were travelling home. You don't even need a CHL in Texas to carry a gun in that situation.

I'm from Texas, and consider it a perfectly reasonable response to shoot someone committing a violent crime with a melee weapon instead of walking up to them. Detain them? The cops can do that if he lives. They get paid to get within arms reach of ya-hoos who try to strangle people.

Care to provide any specific counter-arguments to any of the points I made or the evidence I cited to support them? Again, do the research yourself because politicians and lobby groups have no interest in anything that undermines their agendas. If you're waiting for them to provide objective and thorough research, you'll be waiting a long time. Of course, if you're only interested in research that supports your own opinion, that will probably be easier to find.

Check out the crime statistics on the FBI website. Compare Florida's violent crime rate to DC's violent crime rate. Compare the percentage of violent crimes committed using assault rifles, handguns and melee weapons. Look at the percentage of crimes committed using legally-obtained guns. Look at the results of the ban on drugs today and the ban on alcohol during the prohibition. If you can look at all that and still believe that banning guns will significantly reduce violent crime, you clearly don't need any amount of research to support your opinions.

Would the absence of guns have prevented this murder? Maybe, maybe not. The killer could have used a knife, a hammer, a lead pipe, a screw driver, a frying pan or any other potentially lethal object instead. Granted, it would have been harder, but considering that the majority of violent crimes are committed with melee weapons, it's not improbable.

The issue here is what lead to the killing and how such incidents can be avoided in the future. Banning guns isn't going to suddenly rid the world of paranoia, racism, PTSD, senility, irresponsibility, psychosis, poverty, desperation, ignorance or any of the multitude of human conditions. People who want to hurt other people will always do so unless you address the root of that desire.

As an aside, there is a practical reason for civilians to own guns. Although the gun was misused in this particular case, criminals do exist and there are many who like to rob/mug/rape/murder innocent people. If there weren't, we wouldn't need laws. All weapons, especially guns, are equalizers. They allow physically inferior people to defend themselves against physically superior people who want to abuse their superiority. They allow a single person to defend themselves against multiple assailants. Melee weapons can do the same but are far less effective due their dependence on physical prowess. To claim that guns serve no purpose is short-sighted and ignores these facts.

The online single play may be hurtful to some.. but as a range player, I prefer multi play matches with a melee class cause they can bunch up the mobs while I lay on the dps and crowd control. I am half way through hell mode now and always play multi.

As far as torchlight goes... I think players may be in for a surprise when while it may play very similar, it is plagued with cheating, item duping, and no online managed friends system for easy joining of games.

As someone who leveled alot of alts by playing single player WoW online, there are benefits that many of us prefer. There would be no auction house, and definitely no real money auctions possible if single play profiles were kept offline.

I gave up on guilds after this one, because I would rather not be mid-raid and have drama break out over vent/ts due to this stuff. Enough other crap happens with people competing for loot/high scores/etc.



Not meant to be generalities, they are the experiences I had with the game. I think there were 4 women in the guild that I knew of. Could have been more, but I only knew the raiders or longer term members.

One was married to the guild leader, she used to ask for help to complete things and keep us waiting a good hour or two before she showed up. I didn't like her simply because she tried to treat the guild as her errand runners asking for help and having us wait so she could keep constantly busy. She got involved with a guy in the guild (not her husband) and that kicked off some events.

Next was young, and took a lot of the "sandwich" stuff you are talking about. She got involved with the married guild leader, that kicked off another bunch of stuff....probably 10-15 years difference. This is the husband of the one above....they had kids together and it basically split the guild right down the middle. The young girl involved with him had other admirers and tried to play a guy for the longest time only talking during certain raids. She was called all sorts of names once it came to light that she was dating the husband....no one really mentioned the wife doing the same thing. There was one guy she led on for a long time, they were friends and he thought it was more until he found out she was after the married guy. That started another ripple of problems...she left the guild for awhile to try to get him back as a friend, etc. As much stuff happened involving her, I think she did a lot of intentionally or was younger than she claimed. I generally liked her, but I had to wonder with as much stuff that cropped up around her as to what was going on there.

Another "involved" woman, who was either newly married or soon to be married to another guy in the guild was involved with the guy who was involved with the wife of the guild leader...the first woman I mentioned. That guy told me she was sending him pictures, and then she lost it when she found out he was involved with the other woman. Her husband/soon-to-be never suspected afaik. She was nice enough, but I was friends with her husband and I couldn't stand to hang around him anymore knowing all of this and him being in the dark.

Fourth woman was friends with a couple younger guys in the guild. Who used their vault access to steal a bunch of stuff from the vault and switch servers during a free move. She switched with them once it came to light they had stolen. Then renamed herself and came back, trying to hide her identity. She also tried to hide that she was female to the majority of the guild for a long time as well....she'd type most of her replies. Rarely spoke unless it was a tougher raid. I don't know if she had unwanted attention, or just made like she had unwanted attention from a few...because she moved with the guys she complained about on that free server move. The switch and hiding her identity was probably the worst of it involving her, and really she hadn't done anything wrong that anyone could see but she looked guilty as hell doing what she did. Then she defended those guy's actions who stole tabs and tabs of stuff from the vault before they left.

And yeah they all probably stick out because it was a lot of hub-bub involving them, and all the guys and gals involved were all culpable for their actions. But it was one guild that had more than 1 married woman in it and it failed spectacularly... Other guys in the guild would come hang out with me or solo play instead of doing guild stuff because it was toxic to be around most people in the guild with how everyone was supporting one or the other in just overall poor choices and questionable actions.

I am not saying all women in games are like this, but with this one experience with it made me want to stick to non-voice stuff so I couldn't identify the sex of anyone involved. And yeah I'd like to find a female who games.......but I'd actually like to continue enjoying games heh.

Can you explain the appeal of the game? I've seen clips and it looks a bit ropey. Is it all the rpg elements combining to create an addictive experience as you'd expect or something more?

before they changed dual wielding from being a class skill to being a spec ability at the end of wotlk, i used to dual wield em but as arms for fun and when they proc'd i'd hit bladestorm and it did the most intense animation youve seen. lightning everywhere!

Reminds me of the VERY OLD windfury proc's, so sad they killed the timing of the sound and animation--I have NO CLUE why they did that it was PERFECT as working!?!? Maybe they thought the newbies would get scared off by the pretty lights and sounds, I know I run for a ditch and /cover.
Second, as is said elsewhere in a different fashion, I'd like to point out that once they really start talking I have no idea what language they are talking in. It sounds like Sumerian, but I don't specialize in languages that old and dry...


oh god, i remember the original windfury totems when it didnt increase melee haste but instead gave a chance to proc a second attack. it was crack for fury warriors. i'll never forget one zg run we did and windfury proc'd during a huge trash pull on a whirlwind.....after i had popped recklessness....giant yellow crits filled my screen, i pulled mass aggro, and promptly died. but it was badass

not long after i completed the claw set i met a failadin out in epl, they proc'd halfway through the fight, and he bubble hearthed lol

Haven't seen how this game is leveraging Game of Thrones besides using the name and offering titles that exist within the game but don't seem to translate into the game classes. Red priests are all about the red god...with fire and visions plus some immunity to direct fire and not suffering from cold. I see no mention of that, making him a regular melee/archer......

Hrm I'm about 99% sure you can just let the guards kill that dragon, and even in the last fight you could just use dragonrend shout and let the npc's kill it couldn't you?

I ended up doing this for most of the game on my magic character because I found magic so much slower at killing on the highest setting than max-blacksmithing weapons were on my melee char.

The way he did it yes, especially since air units can still attack the tank.

If someone perfected doing this quickly then what might work is getting 2-3 tanks down there and then attacking the front of the enemy base with the remaining forces. Since they'll be defending pressure at the front it will be a lot harder for them to figure out what is attacking their mineral line or buildings.

Another possibility would be an early drop attack, especially against zerg. Use the glitched tanks to support a marine drop. The tanks can hit enemy units, but can't be attacked by melee units like speedlings or even roaches due to the short range. Then just kill off tech structures with the marines.

What might be more useful is stacking some tanks inside a few missile turrets on a high-ground corner for expansion defense. It would keep air units from sniping them and would keep the tanks from damaging each other. It would also hide the number of tanks you have from your enemy (much like the older "viking flower").

Trying to melee while wearing the archmage robes? idiot deserved to die.

Not really because they don't actually want to sell those products - big discounts mean lower profit margins. Or rather, once a product is sold out many people still want to justify their trip to the store and waiting in line so they "have to" buy something else.
