High School Senior Takes Book Banners To School

newtboy says...

Bwaaaahahahaha. Nothing to say on topic, no contradiction to offer, so you devolve into personal ad hom attacks again. That’s an admission that my points could not be contradicted and you have no argument to offer.

Hilarious you think knowing SOMETHING is like knowing everything about everything.
I’m sad you know so very little about anything. You were clearly shielded from adult topics in school and have no idea how to understand or deal with them.

Lol. I never amounted to much? Is that your assumption? I became exactly what I wanted to be, retired by around 30, home owner, property owner, no debt, no criminal record, with good health, a loving wife, an education, moral, ethical, responsible, and nearly obligation free. I AM living the American dream, friendo. You are the American nightmare….(an ignorant, opinionated, angry blowhard that believes people should only be allowed to learn what you in your unbelievable ignorance think is proper, who is so self centered and poorly educated their opinion on most topics could not be differentiated from an average 3rd grader. A repair technician so delusional he thinks that gives him some otherwise unattainable ethical medical knowledge because he knows the word ultrasound. If you are honest, which I know you are not, you lost at least 1/2 your net worth in the last year following your own incredibly dumb investment advice that everyone on the sift warned you was terrible advice, but you know better.)

I never wanted to tell others what to do….which seems to be what you think is the main measure of success. Having control over others is not what I call success, because I have morals and ethic and see having control as an obligation, a sacred duty owed to those you “control”, unlike yourself who only sees the control and personal opportunities to take advantage of those with less power.

Nothing’s holding me back. I’m exactly where I want to be.
My family is happy, healthy, financially stable, and have never been committed to mental institutions with major mental disorders I created in them through constant abuse. I don’t think you can say the same unless you lied again.

Bob….you SAY I’m wrong 100% of the time, then slink away into the shadows every time I rub your nose in verified facts that prove me correct time and time and time and time again. Was I wrong about Tesla? No. Trump? No. The election? No. Republican criminality? No.
What, exactly, am I wrong about? I know you can’t say….you just KNOW I am. 🤦‍♂️
Sadly, I will say you seem to be wrong about almost everything you say. Demonstrably, verifiably wrong….yet somehow you still believe you have much to teach us. That’s a mental disorder you should seek treatment for, no joke.

Every accusation from your ilk being an admission…why do you like being the ugliest dick on the sift?

PS- how’s that “ALL IN for the long term, buy all you can at $400.” Tesla investment going? How about the “BLM and ANTIFA attacked the capitol, which wasn’t actually attacked.” defense? How you doing on the “Pelosi was not actually attacked by a MAGA terrorist just spurned by his gay lover.” theory? How about the “everyone knows there was massive democratic election fraud” claim?

Im glad you know everything about everything.

Makes me wonder why you never amounted to much, being so brilliant. One would think you could be a Dean of some college or some Corporate leader. But you just are a know it all douche bag.

Maybe thats you biggest problem..
Maybe thats what is holding you back.
Maybe you just wrong 1/2 the time and just cant admit it.

Or you just like being the big dick on the SWIFT.

It would also be s.o.p. To bring a bag in with you. To take pulse, bp, and oxygen level. And administer oxygen. But I don’t see she even has such bag. Her partner stays outside. And I still don’t see any bag. Which is odd.
Normally, the 2 would enter together with a basic care bag. Take basic stats, give oxygen and determine what care is needed. Then remove him. Together. But the man stayed outside. That is all going to look very bad if there is a trial. Other professional medics are going to destroy these 2. If this goes to trial.

It would be possible and common that he is having a blood sugar reaction. It can look just like that. If they are medics ,which I doubt , that can be very easily and quickly fixed with a paste they put in their mouth. People recover very quickly. I have seen it many times. But they bring no bag that I see.

Cities use private ambulances simply because it’s cheaper than using much higher paid professional firefighter medics.

And professional firefighter medics are not gonna work for private service wages, so, private services are getting the bottom of the barrel. Like you see here.

Cities all over America are slowly getting rid of private services. And accepting the fact that they have to pay professionals. Often it takes something to happen though. Like this.

An emt ,and a paramedic ,are 2 totally different things. The headline says emt. But the newscaster says paramedic. There is a significant license and education level between those 2.

I don’t believe these 2 are paramedics. Often an ambulance would have one medic and one emt. Who really just drives the medic around and hands him stuff.

Neither of these 2 look like medics to me. So,there is a question as to why this squad has no medic on board.

EMTs charged with murder

newtboy says...

Full disclosure, I’m not an EMT, but I do know it takes SOME medical training to be one, and it takes absolutely none to know slamming a near unconscious person in full body physical distress with full force on their face then strapping them face down across the chest so hard it asphyxiates them is something a layman with zero medical training knows is not proper or acceptable or even safe treatment.
This wasn’t a case of being tired or inattentive, IMO….it was a case of, for whatever reason, them being put out and clearly enraged at having to help a black man in full blown alcohol withdrawals, and treating him as a sub human inconvenience rather than a distressed patient needing help.

It varies by state, but in California where I live…. California EMT programs are at least 160 hours and include at least 136 hours of didactic training and at least 24 hours of clinical training. The individual must have 10 patient contacts. An EMT who continues training at the AEMT level must meet additional prerequisites.

noims said:

I was going to start off saying that the whole concept of a private ambulance company - an essential service run for profit that so obviously benefits the wealthy over the poor - is so alien to me that it feels wrong to my core.

Then I read your comment and thought that the training really is at the heart of this. Were they sufficiently trained and managed to know that this could/would kill?

This is not a rhetorical question.

If they were paid little and/or forced to work long shifts so they're facing this while tired enough not to think/care, then I blame the company and, by association, the system. If they were well trained and had no genuine excuse (rather than reason) for their behaviour then I blame them.

The reality probably isn't as cut-and-dried as I present it above, but there's definitely a spectrum of blame to be considered.

moonsammy says...

Oops this turned into a semi rant. But I am legitimately open to discussion here, and am curious to get your thoughts on a few points Bob. That is, IF you're willing to actually think about them beyond the level of repeating talking points.

I find it interesting how divergent the two overall "sides" are in this country, in terms of where they focus. None of the issues brought up in this video are really on the radar of most progressives, beyond being aware some on the right are talking about them. And I'm guessing a lot of the concerns progressives discuss rarely come up in your chosen media landscape. A lot of the issues in the video are largely off of my radar, and I have to wonder how you feel they should be addressed - like, actual proposed solutions rather than just complaining about / worrying about them.

We only dedicate one day to remember our fallen soldiers

How many should there be? Arguably we have more than one already: there's Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and it seems that Sept 11th is often used for the purpose as well.

I'd argue we should spend more time acknowledging and understanding the principals behind WHY our soldiers died in the various conflicts which caused them to fall in the first place. Let's make sure our citizenry appreciates what we collectively rejected in the Revolutionary war. Why it was important that we kept the country together rather than allowing the south to split off in the mid-1800s. Why we chose to honor our diplomatic agreements and support our allies in WW1. Why we fought against the countries and governments we did in WW2. What our goals were in Korea and Vietnam, and what lessons we learned from those conflicts and from the Cold War in general. Commemorating and remembering those we've lost absolutely matters, but if we're ONLY doing that while forgetting why they fought OR ignoring what we learned then we're doing them an equal or greater disservice. Remember that America was built on the idea of forming "a more perfect union" - not a perfect one, a MORE perfect one - a work in progress. We're striving towards an ideal, not assuming we're already there. Learning from our past successes, failures, and our struggles around both outcomes is vital. If our self-analysis is no deeper than hero worship we'll never make real progress towards that theoretical perfect union.

The only mask that's gonna save us is duct tape on their mouths

Yeah, sound medical advice and evidence-based science is terrifying. Better to shut up those whose words we dislike, because we're reactionary authoritarian babymen. I truly do not understand being more afraid of reasonable safety measures than of a virus which has been shown to cause serious harm in the short and long terms. The only reason this "masks = liberal / maskless = conservative" crap came about is because politics has devolved to the level of team sports in the US, and one party has chosen "the opposite of whatever our political opponents say" as their entire governing philosophy. (And yes, ONE party - research and understand the GOP's 2020 platform if you want to argue the point.) This video even seems to reach a reasonable conclusion at the end, while coming up just short of that final logical leap to "maybe I should question what the public faces of MY side have been claiming in this Us vs Them madness." Seriously - keep going friend, you're almost there! George Washington was 100% right in wanting to avoid political parties being a force in the US, and it makes me immensely sad that his fears came true.

Big oil runs the world / the only wars to get fought are with the countries who have natural resources they want

Solid point here, no sarcasm. The US military has long been a tool of our profit-driven form of "free market" imperialism. A really great way to combat this, specifically with an eye to ending Big Oil's goddamn death grip on our foreign policy goals, would be an aggressive implementation of renewable energy projects. Remember the space race? America can be an absolute beast at clever engineering solutions when we dedicate ourselves to it. Fuck the petrostates, we have the available land and resources to absolutely kick ass in the realms of solar and wind power, and be leaders in the the post-hydrocarbon reality. We can certainly agree on that, right Bob? Left / Right nonsense fully aside, I think any reasonable American can agree on at least two points: let's stop sending heaps of cash to buy oil off of the Saudis (etc), and Fuck Cancer.

But if a white man acts too white he's white trash / he's a racist he's a bigot he's a monster

What the fuck is this horseshit? What does "acting too white" even fucking look like? Watching NASCAR on a sailboat while listening to polka? Typically when I see racism from white people it's in the form of denying that brown-hued people deal with any additional difficulties in life due to their skin tone, or denying that there have been structural obstacles for them through history, or lamenting that their white children are being burdened with a broader lens on culture or with (gasp! shock!) an accurate accounting of actual US history, including the ugly bits that we shouldn't be proud of (but MUST learn from). I'm progressive / lefty as fuck and there is no aspect of "white culture" or "acting white" which upsets me in the slightest. UNLESS one counts "denying racism exists / has ever existed" as a fundamental value of being white. Which... why would anyone want to claim that nonsense? If you want to listen to classic country music in a rusty pickup truck while driving to an evangelical church, then discuss hockey over Buds after 18 holes with the rest of your tractor pull team, then absolutely go nuts my fellow caucusoid! Just recognize and understand that your life experiences may not be the same as those of others. Further, if we care about trying to avoid unnecessary, avoidable unfairness in life (recognizing that life will never truly be fair, for anyone), then it might be reasonable for some governmental / legal / structural recognition in furtherance of that notion. There is absolutely room for legitimate policy disagreement here without being accused of racism. It's denial of others' reality which tends to garner the label of racist (sexist etc) - steer clear of denying the lived experiences of other people, allow for the possibility they may have encountered difficulties you haven't / won't, and we've room for further discussion.

Edit / final point: I voted the video back up to 0 from the -1 where I found it. Because while I disagree with a lot of the positions taken by the performer, they may have reached them through no fault of their own and with no true malice. Misinformation / disinformation is a devious shit of a motherfucker, and the rot it causes can run deep. It is painful to abandon deeply-held beliefs, on a fundamental level. If nothing else, the video gives us room to discuss some specific viewpoints held by people who think of themselves as good, but which can lead to harm.

Why it's hard to be Republican w/a mind and heart

newtboy says...

>50% chance of sterility and other lifelong severe health issues, 10% chance of death…EVERY FUCKING TIME they deny this type of medical necessity abortion, with zero chance of the fetus surviving to term under any circumstances, not that that would benefit anyone to torture a baby with an excruciating pain filled minimal temporary life of suffering like that would cause.
Proof it’s never been about saving life, it’s all about forcing their religious dogma on everyone, seizing power over people’s lives.

Forget the fact that there’s no chambered heart to beat until around 12 weeks, and not a functional heart with working muscle tissue able to pump any fluid until after 20 weeks, so the entire premise is based on lies, intentional misidentifying a nerve twitch as a “heartbeat” despite there being no heart at all to beat….almost like they think they thought the con through despite not possessing a functioning brain.

Waiting for @bobknight33 to say he knows better because he does routine maintenance on ultrasound machines (but has no biology or anatomy education). Sorry, Slingblade, that doesn’t give you knowledge.

It’s not hard to be a Republican with a heart and a mind, it’s absolutely impossible.

A look back: Donny D.A., COVID & the crab of reason

newtboy says...

Absolutely…the little word flubs are funny, especially seeing how much the right makes of Biden’s diagnosed stutter that he’s all but overcome, but it’s the batshit crazy ideas that are the problem and clearly indicate breaks with reality severe enough for involuntary commitment.

Airplanes/airports….that’s semantics. A game I love, but inconsequential.

Thinking Washington fought with a modern mechanized army…seriously suggesting people should inject disinfectant and swallow uv lights, that’s a dangerous level of insanity or unbelievable stupidity and ignorance, as is ignoring such signs from leaders.

Stuck repeating “oranges”…that needs diagnosis…maybe sundowning? (I don’t know if that’s a medical term, but I mean when early onset dementia patients are almost normal until evening when they break down into full dementia.)

I think I’m going to need to watch that movie again, it’s been decades.

luxintenebris said:

yup. also never said to drink bleach - believe it was something about ingesting disinfectant and exposing internal body surfaces to UV - but the idea was almost the same. (Vader never said "Luke I am your father"; Bogart "Play it again"...)

he did talk about oranges.

odd as he is/was there were six separate occasions where i had to check various sources to conceive myself that the reports were genuine.

the one about the oranges...the cabinet meeting where they took turns praising him...sharpie-gate...NRA/gun nuts assassinating Hillary...drinking bleach...and not knowing Pearl Habor's history.

couldn't be.

'tho the orange thing is just too odd. kept thinking about the strawberries...

Mark McCloskey, remember him? The terrified snowflake that pulled out guns and threatened peaceful marchers in the street walking past his house? Now running for senator, guess which party. Only one party thinks menacing peaceful protesters with death is something to applaud.
Well, he’s in trouble for claiming to be endorsed by Vanilla Ice and Yang Yang Twins (because of course he isn’t).

This you guy? This yor best? Thuggish violent liars prepared to say or do anything for power. It’s all the right has left.

How you liking Cruz showing off how anti military the right is by celebrating withholding earned medical benefits out of pure spite on the senate floor? Their “excuse” is utter nonsense lies, claiming that the bill was once discretionary spending (meaning at the whim of the current president) and has been CHANGED to mandatory spending. It’s a lie, not one word changed since they voted FOR it in June.

How about Trump chumming up to the Saudi Royal family, now saying no one knows if they were involved in 9/11 (he had no doubts in 2016 whatsoever, but now they’ve invested hundreds of millions into Trump companies). He was outraged Obama didn’t release the classified 9/11 report, then when he had the secret report detailing their involvement Trump kept it secret (for favors and investments), Biden released it and Trump now pretends he’s never heard of it, doesn’t know if the Saudis are involved, protects them when they murder Americans, and is more than apply to help them try to destroy an American sports league miles from where the towers once stood. Must make you so proud as a patriot.

Fascism, theocracy, and anti Americanism has actually become the Republican Party platform. Only the TrueType totally insane could possibly see their actions, support them, and still think themselves as American patriots. History will judge you harshly, your families will too. Your legacy is treason.

Just to rub it in how much more competent Biden is, today ended the reign of al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri with no civilian casualties, something Trump promised and completely failed to do…so badly he gave up and agreed to surrender Afghanistan unconditionally.

Just to show how anti American and pro terrorist the right is, your talking heads like Carlson are trying to spin the killing of the mastermind of 9/11 as a bad thing that somehow makes us less safe, and are trying to blame Biden for Russia attacking Crimea and Ukraine.

Trump hosts the sponsors of 9/11 while Biden eliminates the perpetrators. Thanks Biden.

You really are a silly little toddler, aren’t you? Reading comprehension is clearly not a strong suit.
I read 6 articles YESTERDAY, not ever. I know, that sounds impossible at your reading level. You read what, press releases from Elon (but only the positive ones), internet videos from other Tesla fan boys whose channels are dedicated to supporting Tesla, and that’s it?

If you followed it, why do you get literally EVERYTHING wrong when you give statistics or even stated plans for the business? Why do you think a 32% drop is only 20%? Why do you think a 10% cut in employees and hiring freeze is a massive expansion? Why do you think an under 2% market share makes Tesla a competitor with trillion dollar well established companies? Why do you think right before a 1/3 drop in value is “the best time ever to buy, go all in”. Why do you think a stock above 100PE is a good buy? Why do you think the 1/3 drop is 100% due to Biden’s politics over the last 18 months (despite the massive gains it saw under Biden from the 800s to 1200s)? Why do you still say it’s a great time to buy despite Biden having 2 1/2 years left in his FIRST term, so what you claim is bringing Tesla down isn’t going to change? If you really follow Tesla, or if you really believe what you write, it only makes you look more delusional for the conclusions you reach based on the same information I’m reading.

No heart, no heartbeat. Yep. Just like that, where you claim a heart that doesn’t exist beats. You are a service tech at best, a barely literate pinball repairman with an ignorant opinion, not a doctor.

https://www.livescience.com/65501-fetal-heartbeat-at-6-weeks-explained.html

You just can’t stop with the delusions, can you. Bob, did you hit your head? You keep misremembering things over and over and over and over, but you are just certain you remember everything correctly.

It’s true…I did read some (probably near 50 by now) scientific articles (not religious propaganda), talked to dozens of doctors I knew personally (not random unlicensed techs with zero medical training, none required), took advanced biology and anatomy and organic chemistry classes where I got A’s in science consistently (you did not).
What did you read to decide there’s a heartbeat 6-10 weeks before a heart forms? Oh…nothing, you listened to some anti choice liar who said it and maybe a few device techs (without medical training) and you like the idea because it helps strip rights from women, who like everyone that’s not a white male Trumpist, you hate.

Really?! You try to ridicule me for talking to doctors, going to school, and reading, and think you know all about prenatal biology because you talked to some ultrasound device techs without any medical training or licensing who misinterpret a twitch as a “heartbeat” despite there being no heart….not that a heart makes an embryo a functioning human anyway, which IMO should be the deciding factor….if it can survive outside the womb, it’s a viable human, if not, it isn’t…no matter what, it has no right to force another human to be an incubator any more than an ANTIFA diabetic has the right to force you to hand over your kidney.
REALLY!?

A heart that doesn’t exist can’t beat.

Like the fetus heartbeat starts around week 7 or 8. I say this because I've been servicing medical ultrasound since 2021. I've seen more and listen to more techs than you ever could.

But you say, since your mom work at at the hospitable rand you read some articles you conclude just a electrical twitch.

Competition might arrive this year, with the big 3 each possibly producing more than Tesla next year.
Ford alone has committed $50 billion to ev production in the US. The big 3 see Tesla as a proof of concept, not competition.

Today by executive order opposed the unconstitutional ruling by the activist extremist far right wing judges using every possible methods the DOJ has, including protecting abortion clinics still operating, protecting access to them, protecting access to FDA approved medication in every state, protecting a woman’s right to health care even if she’s pregnant (including if she’s miscarrying), and cracking down on data searches of your private data by data brokers who then sell it to law enforcement without a warrant to determine if you might be pregnant and thinking about abortion.
Edit : now investigating the idea of allowing abortions on federal land, but that only protects providers until the next con president.

Republicans have said if they get control they will enact a national ban on all reproductive rights, outlawing abortion nation wide, outlawing contraception nation wide, and forcing 10 year olds to have daddy’s mutant babies even if it kills them.

Edit: Republicans are also on the docket in the Supreme Court asking that their own state laws don’t constrain them in making state election laws. That’s so they can gerrymander, enact voter ID even if it’s unconstitutional in their state, and so Republican state senators could choose the electors no matter the vote count.

Democratic policies at work trying to save democracy. Thanks Biden. Granted, it’s far from enough pushback against the fascist right, but it better than noth8ng.

More *lies

That’s absolutely not a thing, it’s a right wing lie. <1% of abortions even happen in the third trimester, and then it’s for medical necessity, not a choice.
If there was any semblance of honesty in what she said, conservative legislatures would have only banned “elective late term” abortions or better, “elective third trimester” abortions but that’s not what they did because that wouldn’t actually stop any, they aren’t a thing.

This is how cons are justifying to themselves forcing 13 year old little girls raped by their fathers to become mothers to their own brothers? Because someone told them partial birth abortions are a real, common thing liberals have constantly for fun because they’re evil, so out of spite and disgust they outlaw all abortions and contraception too, no exceptions?

Only the fully flagitious, feculent, feckless few could try to sell that slanderous insanity, and only lowest of the lowly brain dead slugs would believe it.

Flagitious- (of a person or their actions) criminal; villainous.
Feculent-of or containing dirt, sediment, or waste matter
