TL;DW! I jest, I jest! I remember I used to read metric (yes, METRIC) tons of books during my formative years. Novels, fiction, non-fiction, comics... I read Times & Maclean's (Canadian equivalent of Times) magazines front-to-back... like over 90% of all articles every week. But high-speed internet & smartphone happened then I don't read prints very much anymore. Still read/watch news too much though, but it's now more depressing than educational with the stuff I read online. The journalistic standard is way down.
Much harder to find really enlightening long-form reporting these days.

enochafter watching michelle gomez knock it out of the park playing missy (formerly known as the "master"),and knowing the lore of the timelords that they do,in fact,change gender.i do not really see what all the fuss is about.
i love capaldi and i think his doctor could have been better with stronger material,because when the stories were good,capaldi really shined.
and i am exactly where @mram is at.i too,thought matt smith would flub it and was pleasantly proved wrong.(though i still am a tennant and baker fan).
let's hope the new female doctor has some good material to work with,and see how she runs......

mram says...I grew up on Tom Baker. I have loved and hated some Doctors as they came and went.
What I've learned: give anyone a chance. They might surprise you, and often do. But if they don't, let it go - it's not the end of the show. Matt Smith I thought would be awful (Too young! No skills!) and I was completely and utterly wrong, and happy to be wrong. Life gives you easy lessons sometimes.

Esoog says...Its funny how you get attached to different doctors. I started watching again near the end of Tennant's run. When Matt Smith came on, I was blown away. After going back and watching all modern episodes, he's been my favorite by far. He was quirky with the ability to be seriously dramatic when needed.
And a lot of credit has to go to the companions as well. I mean, Amy, come on.
Looking forward to the new doctor. Couldnt get into Capaldi.

He doesn't own most of the properties that bear his name, in case you're confused. In fact, there's no evidence that he owns any of them since he won't release any financial information.
I'll admit, he was great at selling his name as a brand, but today his name is Mud. Watch how many skyscrapers or clubs he puts his name on after he's out of office.
That's not what Republican senators are saying, many have started using the "I" word in public.
BTW....Hillary DID win the election, but lost the electoral college...something you seem to have forgotten because you believe Trump when he says he won by the biggest margin ever and there were 3 million fraudulent votes, all for Clinton (even though the only one actually found voted twice for Trump) and you never even check to see if it's true. (It's not)
At least we finally have an investigation of Russian involvement (and any cover-up of it) where Trump can't fire or blackmail the lead investigator. Time will tell what he finds.
