one of the many faces of racism in america
yeah..i am with @VoodooV on this one.
the man was not working.
was not wearing any company logos or identification, yet loses his job.
for what?
being an insensitive racist idiot?
public shaming?
all for it,and it might even change a few hearts and minds.inject a little empathy in an otherwise rigid and narrow worldview.
losing his job?
eeeeeeh..i think some people are taking the social warrior thing a tad too far,and are not being far sighted in their execution.
sure..we can hate on this racist asshole and ridicule him for his idiocy, but what happens when the PC police find something that YOU do offensive or inappropriate?
would you still be as confident in losing your livelihood?
i have been following this case in canada where this graphic designer is facing 6 months in jail for criticizing and disagreeing with two feminists.these women are trying to make the case that his criticisms,in the form of tweets, constitutes harrassment.
he lost his job.
is 80k in the hole, and the case has been ongoing for three years.
so there is already a frightening amount of this PC police, social warrior fascism having actually consequences.
so where do we draw the line?
who is going to arbitrarily monitor that line?
who decides what is offensive and what is not?
you start going down this road and that line will become more and more blurred until the first amendment is toast.
i am finding it more and more disturbing that people are beginning to think that being offended somehow equates to a right.that their little world, their minute and tiny habitat should be protected from offensive language.
unless you are ok with destroying peoples lives for being an idiot or an asshole.
social warriors:morality police concerned with their own little habitat, but they have your best interest as well.
oh goodie....
one of the many faces of racism in america
Hey bob, you're on camera!!
The guy is an racist idiot, but I don't think anyone deserves to lose their job over something like this. He's a fucking grunt, he's not a public figure, he wasn't working and it wasn't like he wore his company's uniform or logo on him or anything and I don't think a company should punish someone for what they do after hours. He was definitely trolling for a fight, but there was no violence, just harsh words, racist or not.
...but it's a private company and racists aren't a protected class and they can fire who they want.
How Facebook is stealing billions of views
Love the OCP and Weyland/Yutani logos at 4:13
Focus On The Universe with Stephen deGrasse Colbert
I miss that old HBO logo.
Don't ride off a hill if you don't know how to land - go pro
GoPro - Be AN Hero?
Why'd they edit the final logo to say AN Hero? The reflection says Be A Hero.
Is there a play on words I'm missing?
Bean Hero?
*confused
Colorblind man sees purple for the first time
Imo more likely custom which i assume many people would do. Especially if it's a gift. Also i think most people wouldn't want a logo that says hey look at my colorblind glasses. Would much rather have something that blends in. If you know what i mean.
http://enchroma.com/shop/enchroma-cx-custom-frame/
Those frames look like the Raybans or Fake Raybans. (the little silver ellipse at the corners of eyes was the bullshit button) The enchroma website has different looking frames. So I'm not sure what to make of it.
Shia LaBeouf Motivational Speech: Toonami Edition
All he was missing in that motivational...speech(?), sideshow...was the whole shooting Fireballs ability...
/oh and a Nike logo at the end...
//for those too young to know why the fireballs are important, please watch a movie called Braveheart, damn Millenials...
Mr. Robot - Full Pilot Episode
So the "E Corp" logo looks a lot like the Enron logo... I'm sure that was a complete coincidence
But yeah, looks like the writers actually talked to someone who understands the internet for a change.
Star Wars Battlefront Reveal Trailer
At the very end, after the playstation logo, it reads "FROSTBITE GAME ENGINE FOOTAGE REPRESENTATIVE OF PLAYSTATION 4. NOT ACTUAL GAMEPLAY.".
So while it may be rendered in-engine, the wording makes it sound like this wasn't done on a PS4 and it's more like an in-engine cutscene, using animations, effects, and physics that won't be seen in the actual gameplay.
First James Bond SPECTRE teaser trailer
I love it when the Spectre logo shows up and then you hear those brass notes. chill down the spine.
Sen. Ted Cruz at Liberty University announces his candidacy
Oh god, it's 31 minutes long? Fuck that noise. I'm just going to assume it's "blah blah god blah blah those awful gays blah blah climate change is fake something something obama"
@newtboy, apparently he squeaks in on a technicalit
y.
Between being Canadian and being an idiot, you would hope it's the idiot part that disqualifies him. That, and he stole his campaign logo from Al Jazeera
I started a YouTube gaming news channel - Factual Gamer (Videogames Talk Post)
oh well... it actually takes quite a bit. let's start backwards:
posting links to the video on social networks, twitter, promotion and stuff like that: 20 min
adding captions, notes, etc to the video: 10 minutes
uploading the video and filling in the information: 10 minutes
rendering the video: 2 hours
(this week I made an editing mistake and had to change and re-render the video which took and additional 2 hours)
actually editing the video: about 5 hours (which could be less, if the editing preview wasn't so unresponsive and slow now. it makes the work really frustrating and inefficient)
making the animated talking logo in after effects: 15 minutes
recording the voice-over: 1 hour (I make a few mistakes, and then I also need add a few filters to make it sound better, 'cause my mic is kinda crappy)
collecting all the videos I need for backdrops: 2/3 hours
actually writing the script while reading the news I had previously chosen: 2 hours
getting all the release dates down: 1 hour
picking and choosing the news I'll be talking about: 1 hour spread throughout several days.
So on total: around 15 hours. Obviously not all on the same day. Most of it on fridays.
Curios to know how much time goes into each video and how that time is spent on different parts from gather info to actual creating the video or however it all works.
Guy Hides In Rear Bumper Trying To Cross The Border
As @blackfox42 says, Spain. I worked it out from the police force having Guardia Civil logos (they are in charge of border control, among other things, in Spain).
What border and wow!
VideoSift v6 (VS6) Beta Video Page (Sift Talk Post)
I like the top menu (the level where the Videosift logo is), it's nice. Can I suggest moving everything up there rightward so it's left alligned with where the video frame begins?
Also I like how you centred the video (got rid of stuff to the side of it) and made it larger. The centred-ness goes well with my OCD
As an idea for the side bar where you currently have Suggested/Related - how about possibly canning Suggested? I feel like Top, Unsifted, 'others in channel' encapsulates it already. How about instead having the following in a browser style tabbed menu (that wouldn't reload page when you select between them):
(1) Top, (2) Unsifted (expiring + beg), (3) Related, (4) Channel (maybe a filter that you select from a drop down of all channel from most popular to least), (5) Top Comments. You could re-use the buttons style you made for the old format for selecting "light/dark" or "newest/upcoming" but larger which would be good for TV/HTPC users.
Also for consistency, how about making that side bar identical in style to the items under the "Watch" menu up top? Actually, maybe only similar, with the same style but larger font and wider like they are now?
Tribute to Window Cleaners of the World
I was wondering the same thing... only reason I could see is that there was supposed to be a business logo or name on the glass.
Why is a window there?
