I member. It wasn’t her fault, but didn’t this essentially end her singing career? I couldn’t figure out why, it’s not like anyone was shocked she lip synced. Most pop stars do, especially if they dance too.
I can’t even tell if the band is trying to play along or not. They sure don’t seem to be playing what we are hearing.

Other sources like Wikipedia say ~6 octaves. This particular performance looks like lip-sync, especially in the finale where his throat doesn't appear to be doing any vibrato. Still, apparently he's an extremely skilled musician and singer, so at least it's not fraudulent.

Almost certainly a mimed / lip synced performance, unfortunately. I really wish programs like this would've done actual live performances as the default, pretty sure audiences could've handled versions that sounded slightly unlike the album recordings.

Sorry, not quite there yet. There is no way anyone would actually look at that and think "oh, it's a video of a human".

The uncanny valley is one of those instances where the closer you get to perfection, the more obvious the flaws are.

But in terms of a video game character, this is very, very good.

I would love to know a few more details about it:
- how expensive is the rendering? We're just seeing a face on its own. If we drop it into an actual scene, will it still run?

- how well does it animate/lip sync?

I'm am crazy or did he either lip sync or did they after dub (or whatever it is called)?

No lip sync here! Would've been hugely embarrassing if she had been, so probably for the best.

Also, to be fair, when someone doesn't have a loop back of their voice, and there's tons of sound so they can't hear themselves directly, it's like a deaf person singing. Britney IS singing. This would not be accurately described as lip-sync as in the Milli Vanilli crap. This is definitely "overdubbing" with the second track being edited out. Also, as she knows her voice isn't actually being amplified, she's not really trying. This isn't an Autotuned performance either.

What really blew my mind was finding out Lil' John can actually sing. Sing REALLY well actually. He uses Autotune as an art device, bizzarely.
