The Floppotron: Airwolf Theme
Wonder if he got his legs back in heaven?
I was tired of shoveling my driveway
I can do far more work with my legs than my back. I could run his bikeplow for an hour easy, but a shovel, 15 minutes would be pushing it.
The plow doesn't lift the snow, which saves wasted effort. Even so, it might still take more total work, but at a lower steady rate instead of short jarring maximum efforts.
Doesn't he end up doing just about the same amount of work/energy as if he was shoveling? He's got the bike geared low so he's peddling pretty fast. He's got wheels but he's also got extra weight from the plow and himself and is pushing more snow than with a shovel.
If I only knew someone better at math than me.
BACON CAUSES CANCER!!!! MCDONALDS IS GIVING FREE CANCER!
Allow me to demonstrate your bias in this situation.
Q: if instead of bacon, what if they had 800 studies showing that, say, carrots cause cancer. Would you be arguing about the stats, or would you stop eating carrots?
I'm pretty sure you'd stop eating carrots. But because you enjoy bacon so much, it's having a impact on your reasoning. That is your bias.
I can prove this further by asking you what it would take to make you give up bacon. And I'm quite sure you would say nothing. Perhaps short of some instant effect, I know you would never stop eating it, no matter strong the evidence. In fact many people don't. They rather go blind and hav their legs amputated from preventable diabetes than give up their instant comfort foods. They are so biased they lose their own limbs, and still refuse to accept the reality.
You also you like to claim that me being vegan makes me biased. But the truth is that the Science made me vegan. And not the other way around. The reduction of animal cruelty is just a bonus.
It's not time you lack, I got an A in statistics which I took after advanced placement B/C calculus, thank you.
Please stop hyper exaggerating the danger of all animal products and the benefits of veganism.
No, we're acting like +1% lifetime risk of one type of cancer, from 5%-6%, is a totally acceptable level of risk to trade for a lifetime of pleasure when taken knowingly, and is a far cry from +18% every time you eat bacon. It's probably far less than the additional risk of drinking municipal water, or breathing anywhere East of the West coast, certainly exponentially less than breathing air in any major metropolitan area, or living within 25 miles of a military base or airport.
I'm also acting like people who lie about or misrepresent the stats only prove their position is untenable and that they're untrustworthy. If 1% total increased lifetime risk is enough to make your point, why erroneously claim +18% per serving? It makes it so easy to dismiss and overlook any real point you might have had.
Nothing is unanimous, and that goes double for nutritional advice. Somewhere there's a doctor that insists you can't possibly get enough nitrates, most would say if you're healthy go ahead and have some bacon...in moderation. My doctor and numerous documentaries say the stress of worrying incessantly about every little risk factor is a much bigger risk factor than almost any other for innumerable disorders and diseases. I'll take his advice, thanks.
When your legs don't work like they used to
Pretty sure you're pullin' my leg.
Fake. I'm not falling for this one.
Moose walking down the median
Wonder what's up with the marks on the back legs. Looks like either a skin infection or maybe scarring from wolves?

Do you realize that you are being pandered to? Do you know you are being manipulated? Do you understand that it is super creepy if you don't know you are being manipulated?
Warehouse Jenga
Yeah, I saw something that suggested this was filmed in July, so you'd think there was more information. All the news I can find on it, just report about the "viral video", with no results on when and where for sure. You'd think that the company itself, or people there that day, would have seen it gone viral and put info out by now... though unless it was the company itself, it'd be harder to vet.
I'd wager the driver was okay in the cage, might have broke a bone or two, but otherwise was okay. The guy in yellow on the right would be the bigger concern, as he was buried. Near the very end you see somebody in black making a run across the far right as the last section collapses.
The crazy thing is, the shelf was barely hit. You probably hit it harder when putting pallets up. It must have been the perfect combo of angle and velocity, then add to that the tension on the legs given the way it was stacked and voila, disaster.
Maybe...I thought he's likely just been swept off his feet, but it's possible he got crushed. There's surprisingly little info about this to be found.

STRAPPED INTO A SINKING HELICOPTER (with U.S. Marines)
If you keep air in your lungs and avoid paniced movements your body will start to float up on it's own. While on the surface move your legs and feet as if you were peddling a bicycle.
That should keep you from panicking unless you see sharks, so keep your eyes closed.
Did he just sneak in a life lesson at the end?
As someone who doesn't know how to swim very well (my feet and hips sink and I basically make big splashes across the water in an huge effort to avoid sinking) I'd be super panicked in this situation.

Apple under fire for allegations of controversial business
I've been in the medical field service business for 30 years. Fixing / installing Cathlabs, Vascular labs,X ray, Mamo and Ultrasound systems.
The battery or such does not cost an arm or a leg. Its the R&D that goes into it. Its the supply chain warehousing parts and the tax on inventory and all that other stuff like profit.
As far as 3rd party servicing. Apple will loose and have to make their service documents/ tools available. Those tools can be different - but come to the same results.
It is in the OEM interests to keep 3rd party service away for many reasons, not just to hoard more business.
We do provide service manuals and parts to 3Rd party. no problem. They are on the web just to get them.
As far as ripping the customer off. That's wrong. Apple will need to address this. I would not think that is common.
